Monkey see, monkey do, eh? No sooner do we learn that SDHC will eventually morph into SDXC with a capacity limit of 2TB than Sony and SanDisk announce that the Memory Stick PRO / Memory Stick Micro will soon reach that same ceiling. In fact, the announcement is so new that the format doesn't even have a name (something along the lines of Extended High Capacity, probably), giving both of the formats the ability to reach 2TB on a single card. If all goes to plan, production should get going on the new formats sometime this year, so it's safe to say the race to a new top is officially on.

I was atleast expecting them to get up to 250GB first

anyways, this sounds sweet, not worth my money though, I'd probably go with the 8 16 or 32 gb

These are SPECIFICATIONS for cards, not the cards themselves. The old specs don't allow for cards that big. These new specs do. It doesn't mean the next cards out will be that big, only that they can theoretically now be that big.

Well, "theoretically" having 2TB of storage on my PSP sounds pretty damn cool. Just the fact that its a possibility is fascinating. I mean to hold so much on something so small has always had me in awe.

IMAGINE ALL THE SAVE FILES I CANN PUT ON THERE! ITS ENOUGH FOR ALLEVERY MY GAMES!!(just kidding)

Jump seems kinda weird to me. Espically seeing that i orderd a 16 gig like 2 days ago. (Not sure if ticked)

Good thing I guess...now people dont have to worry about concerving as much space when they code now..

I can't see getting to 2tb anytime soon, this format will probably pickup where current cards left off, 64, 128, 256gb etc... And instead of people buying a 500gb card and never needing another one, you forced to buy each new step

one could have every psp game and demo, as well as much porn as one could handle. i wonder what the load time on THAT would be?

So... 2 terabytes of space on a signal flash drive 0.o.. I think i'd try replacing my PC's 250GB HD with it before I would put it into my PSP :P

Could you imagine what would happen if they used hi speed versions of this as computer hard drives? 16 TB of space 0_o. but srsly, this just asks people to pirate games. Also, who needs that much space on a portable device? unless your watching 8032948320850238408 blu-ray movies...

using this for a psp would be ridiculous

Every piece of media and data I own could fit in there.

What would I hope for this thing:

- Computer HDD most likely
- Built-in TIVO for my HDTV (now that would be cool?)

There are endless posibilities if they can manage to get that memory size
