I knew because I excelled in science and maths at school, and did many years of training towards being a doctor before falling very ill and being unable to continue my studies.

Ill? What do you mean? If you couldn't continue your studies, it must have been serious.

It was serious. I could've restarted the studies, but would have had to start from the beginning and wasn't in a position to afford it.
Oh. How unfortunate.
I am more positive about it because if I had finished I may not have got with my lovely wife and had such an amazing family. So I am better for it :)

Never knew exactly how to describe it - any ideas?

This thread has gone from defining wash bottles to study-halting illness to a weird artifact.
