It's about half the price of Sony's card. That's what's so special. ;)

I dont know if i could put my money on an mcard that's not sony. I've had problems in the past with 3rd party mcards but this post drew my attention as it also mentioned this being a high quality memory card.

On another note, i keep finding sites advertising original sony 64mb memory cards. Are they for real?I could post a link if you want, but i'm hesitant to purchase such a card without verifying its integrity.

Larger than 8M cards work by bank selecting the memory. This requires you to push a button on the card while it's plugged into the PS2 to switch the bank (usually displayed via LEDs on the card). This memory may be real, but often is just compressed on the fly. So that 64 MB card might really be 32 MB with compression. They tend to be generous in how well the data will compress.

So I wouldn't bother with larger size cards. Also, I can't say anything about the quality of these new 8MB cards. You'll have to wait for awhile (since they're new) and see if people complain. I just stick to Sony cards as I don't save enough to make it worth having more than the four cards I have. Any homebrew I run off CD, USB, or the harddrive.
