In a financial statement released today, Ubisoft confirmed that it is working on new titles in the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon and Assassin's Creed series.

There's no specific date set for the games' release, but Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said the next Ghost Recon game and Assassin's Creed 2 are targeted for the company's 2009-2010 fiscal year. That means anywhere from March 2009 through February 2010.

Gamers can also expect the next installment in the Splinter Cell franchise, Splinter Cell Conviction, during that general time frame, Guillemot said. Conviction was previously announced as a Q2 2009 release.

Ubisoft also gave some guidance on the upcoming survival horror game I Am Alive, which is being developed by Darkworks. Yesterday, some gaming Web sites reported that the game is set for a March release, but Ubisoft cast doubt on that today.

"'I Am Alive' will require further development time and will now bolster the line-up for 2009-10," the company said in its financial statement.

A new game in the Anno franchise is also briefly mentioned as being scheduled for fiscal 2009-10. No details were given, but we're assuming this is the PC game Anno 1404. Ubisoft bought the RTS developer Sunflowers, which makes the Anno games, in 2007.

In addition to the recognizable franchises above, Ubisoft also plans to introduce "three new brands" during its 2009-2010 fiscal year, along with a stonger casual games lineup and four licensed games, including James Cameron's Avatar.
