Hello,

I'm trying to custom build a gamecube into my car, and i'd like to convert the gamecube from a top-loading disc drive to an ejecting tray style drive.

I would like to know if the gamecube will work with a regular PC dvd-rom drive, i dont want to take it apart and try it and end up breaking my GC, i will if i have to, but if someone knows that would help a lot.

If anyone has any info or can point me in the right direction to find this information (a good GC modding forum or something) i would highly appreciate it.

Thanks again!!

The answer would be no, only the Wii can eject games in the style you are after (a Wii is a good idea - plays GameCube titles).

Although, a "Panasonic Q" has exactly what you are looking for. Though I doubt you would find one in good working order.

But if you don't mind paying $39 for one missing it's faceplate >> http://cgi.ebay.com/Broken-Panasonic-Q-Gamecube---Missing-Faceplate-+-Side_W0QQitemZ190284426102QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ200 90204?IMSfp=TL090204172007r38626

Or a fully working Panasonic Q for $200 (inc.P&P) >> http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330272225214&ssPageName=MERCOSI_VI_ROSI_PR4_PCN_BIX_Stores&refitem=190284426102&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=closed_view_item&refwidgettype=osi_widget&_trksid=p284.m185&_trkparms=algo%3DSI%26its%3DI%252BIA%26itu%3DIA%25 2BUCI%26otn%3D4%26ps%3D41
