Xbox 360 owners may have gotten a first shot at The Last Remnant, but it now seems that PC owners can look forward to an improved version of the game. Over in Japan, Square Enix shared today final release details on the Japanese release of the PC version of the multiplatform RPG, revealing a host of improvements. It also shared some high res PC screenshots, which you can see in our media gallery.

While the PC version of Last Remnant will be pretty much identical to the console versions, Square Enix is adding four major improvements. Here's a summary of what's new:

High speed battle option
The game now offers a high speed battle option, presumably addressing an issue from the 360 version where some battles took over an hour.

Elimination of leader unit limits
The 360 version limited players to six unique leaders on the battle field, pulled from the game's cast of over 40. The PC version has no such limitation.

Equipment Preview
You can now get a preview image of equipment designs while in a shop or through the status screen. The 360 version let you view your equipment only during battle.

Language Option
The Japanese version of the PC release will have the option for selecting either English or Japanese voices. Text can also be switched to multiple languages.

In Japan, Last Remnant will hit the PC on April 9, priced similar to the 360 version, at 8,190 yen (about $90 US). Square Enix has yet to share specific release details for the game outside of Japan.

Prior to release, Square Enix will be offering players a demo. But before that, interested parties can download a benchmark test for the game from the Japanese official site. The benchmark is accessible via the first button with the word "Download." The "Coming Soon" button is for the upcoming demo.
