Hey there, I thought that now is a good time to preview my latest project, Sonic Dash. Me and a friend have been working on this for a few weeks now, during our college breaks, and it's taking really great shape. It's really aimed for the PSP but because there are Lua players for other platforms it shouldn't be too hard to port over. At the moment though, I'm aiming for a PC and PSP release. Here is a few screenshots below:

And the little testing arena.
Planned Releases:
I don't have any fixed dates but here is when I would feel like the project could get released:
Tech Demo Release - When all of Sonic's Movement has been completed, maybe a few objects too.
Demo #1 - When the first level has been completed.
Demo #2 - When the first 3 levels have been completed.
Full Release - When everything has been done.
At the moment, the tech demo release is just around the corner if any more assignments don't get in the way.
Levels:
6 Zones:
- Shady Grove - Tropical Island Cliché
- Dusty Castle - Ancient Ruins cliché
- Poole Cavern - Underwater cliché
- Launch Fairway - Base cliché
- Sunset Canyon - Desert Cliché(ish)
- Robotnik Utopia - Large Factory cliché
(Each Zone contains 2 full acts plus one boss zone (Like in Sonic CD))
It would be a great help if you have any unused sprites of anything Sonic related lying around too, please reply if you want to contribute, we are also looking for lua programmers or any unwanted Sonic/Platformer Source Codes too since then I can recycle old bits of code for the source to this game. Finally, if you are interested in helping with the progress of this game in one way or another then like I said above, please reply below.
Credits:
Me - Obviously.
James (http://www.james-brooks.net) - For rewriting my horrible code and making it awesome. =P
Black Squirrel - For letting me use his awesome art for the first zone.
Nebula - Sonic Sprites
