A batch of new software debuts couldn't unseat Namco Bandai's Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2 as Japan's bestselling game, including a better than expected showing of the PlayStation 3 exclusive Demon's Souls.

The continued impressive sales of the latest Tales role-playing game and Konami's World Soccer Winning Eleven 2009 gave the PlayStation family a strong showing in Media Create's weekly sales charts. From Software's Demon's Souls racked up a respectable 40,000 units sold, with Capcom's Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G giving half of the top ten to games on Sony's hardware.

The rest of the week's new software didn't chart too well, with Another Code R and the Japanese release of Midnight Club: Los Angeles landing just outside the top ten. The full list is after this.

New titles are listed in bold.

Whoo! Now if only Namdai America could get off its a** and do some marketing in the west, it may get popular there too.
