Jean-Yves Lamoureux has released a new piece of software called Wifi Sniffer for the PSP, heres the info:

WifiSniffer v0.1
(c) 2006 Jean-Yves Lamoureux <[email protected]>
Website not really known, should be http://jylam.info/psp/
Licence not determined for now ... ;)
USAGE:
Like any homebrew, mh, do whatever you think you have to do.
I've put 2 directories:
1.00 for original EBOOT.PBP file
1.50 for 1.5 firmwares, just put the TWO directories in psp/games/
Ok, so this tool will just display wifi APs in your neighbourhood. Blue is WEP enabled ones, red are uncrypted. Refresh is something like every second.
**PLEASE** Turn your wifi switch -->ON<-- **before** launching the tool.
That all. See you next time ?

It scans but thats it you cannot do nothing else with it pretty pointless really all it shows is that sniffing can be done...

It's a start.

It came in very handy while I was driving to work. There are thousands of wireless networks which are just simply WEP... Mouth watering... must crack for free internet...

I bet you AirSnort can be coded into this and we'd be cracking WEP A and B wireless from our pockets.

Also This Is Great Because When You Start A New Connection, You Know Ther Is One Nearby. Great Release, I Can See That This Will Be Very Helpful.

Doesn't work on PSP fw 1.0 :/
i just get the message "Error attaching device. Was WiFi switch [ON]?"
Although my PSP wifi is setup correctly, switch is on, and it works perfectly fine with PSP Radio or Wipeout browser.
When I try with switch set to OFF, i get the funny blinking message

I hope the author can correct the bug because i've been anticipating such a tool for a long time ^^ (Jean-Yves i can beta-test for you if you wish!)
