What's worse than your teen sending 10,000 text messages, mostly during school? Her sending 10,000 text messages when you have no text message plan.

Not only did all those sent and received messages (another 10,000 were received) cost the dad $4,756.25, it caused the girl's grades to drop down from A's and B's to F's. Verizon has offered to cut that down to non-absurd levels.

Then, of course, came the hammer. Because the guy's obviously rational and likes wasting even more money when he eventually has to buy his daughter another phone in the future. Good job sir!

10,000 text messages isn't much, though I only send around 50-90 per day depending on whoever I'm sending messages isn't busy.

Here in the UK, text messages are practically FREE... On O2 £30 gets me unlimited texts, which the £30 still remains for other stuff (so FREE). :)

The most texts i've sent in a month is 2,000.

Orange do have a fair usage policy, and I think thats over 2,500. Then they start charging.

I now get FREE calls and text messages, for only £15 p/m on O2 which the £15 stays put for other uses.

O2's fair use policy on Text Anytime is 12,000, I made it go down to 9,287 (maybe lower) once from sending multiple text message commands to my PC. :)

there is no wrong in sending thousands of text, except, your text message is important.
