Run UMD v0.01.01a1 - UMD Launcher for v2.0+ Games on V1.5 PSP

Nem and the Saturn Expedition Commitee (http://sec.pn.to/pw/?RunUMD) have released a new version of the UMD Launcher of Games (Not isos- No Warez) that require v2.0 + firmware on the Homebrew friendly V1.50 PSP :)

This is only a minor update but worth a try to see if anything new works :)

I saw a Japanese page and they confirmed that Monster Hunter Portable was launchable. I tried Katamari Damacy and it froze after the first now loading sign appeared in the lower right hand corner.

I guess there is still some way to go with this, but the prospect is absolutely amazing :D I hope it works someday.

SF3 US NOW WORKS!!!!

I used the instructions posted on MaxConsole Forum.
CONFIRMED TO WORK WITH US UMD!!!

Credit goes to Lodis for discovering and delt31 for promoting the steps everywhere.

Steps I used:
Get the latest Run UMD version: 0.01.01a1
Date should be 3/09 or something. i got it from psp updates.

1. Run the program
2. Stick in any game that Has Firmware 2.0 like GTA. I used ultimate block party.
3. Hit O to extract
4. Hit X to run your game like GTA or Ultimate Block Party.
5. Let game load then exit game.
6. Run the program again
7. Stick in SFA3
8. Hit O to extract
9. Hit X to play!!!!
DONE!!! One time only.
Not sure if you can copy the X file to other mem sticks.

Known issues: SFA3 does NOT save. Multiplayer probably no.
If you have music problems repeat steps from begining.
If you can't get it to work make sure you have the LATEST version!!!

I also would like to know if Katamari works. An earlier post says it doesn't work quite right, but I'd like to hear from others, to make sure the person didn't mess up.

In addition, I'd like to know if Worms works.

I've tested it with Kingdom of Paradise. Works like a charm, except that when you're loading your game there's no text (still loads the file, it just doesn't show the save name or info).


EDIT: Oh, I've just found that neither of them work, because they requrie 2.6 and this only emulates 2.0. Hopefully that'll be fixed though. I really want both of those games. :[

Well, as the first post said... this allows people that have firmware 1.50 psp's, to play the umd games that require firmware 2.00 or higher.
There are other game loaders like this such as MPH's loaders but they work differently and each work better with different games...

But as far as i know, none of the loaders work with firmware 1.00. :(
Has anyone got this working on a firmware 1.00 psp?
I'm pretty sure it doesn't work with 1.00 but I'm not brave enough to try it... :o

Finaly a umd loader that works with the Datel 4g hard drive!

I've got GTA loading fine now, but UK Strret fighter alpha 3 doesnt work for me or Monster Hunter Freedom.

I'm just happy I've got 1 of my umds to work!

Confirmed games I've gotten to work with this:

GTA: LCS - Flawless as far as I can see, even with Edison Carter's Cheat Device

Tokobot - Also flawless

I've been looking for a UMD loader that doesn't require you to fill up a 32mb MS (Only thing available to me) The only apparant issue is that text on the game loading screen has a black box behind it... otherwise, it runs like a well-oiled... oily thing. Since these are the only games I need to use this with, this gets my full support... keep the good stuff coming!
