Why can't I fake update to version 2.60? The fake updater tells me that the EBOOT.PBP file is corrupt. Did Sony add new security?

Yes, the 2.6 eboot uses a new encryption differnt than 2.0 2.01 and 2.5. Notice there is no way to use 2.6 in mph firmware launcher.

What if I borrowed someone's 2.60, used eLoader, ran FileAssistant 0.04, and copied their flash to my memory stick? (BTW, contrary to what Fanjita said, it is possible to get UMD access through the loader with FileAssistant.)

EDIT: This post makes me look retarded. If possible can a mod please delete this for me? Thanks.

Uh, do you even know what I am talking about? I assume not, so I will tell you. I wanted to use Fake Updater to rip the files from the 2.60 update to launch them, but apparantly it didn't work. I am not trying to downgrade by naming a 1.50 update a 2.60 update.

Does anyone know if PSARDumper or DecryptPRX will work?

Forgive me, I read one thing and thought of something else.
