1. Make a folder on the root of your memorystick called "N64".

2. Make sure the rom you have is unzipped. For example the filename should be something like "WaveRace64.v64".

3. Take that file and put it into the folder called "N64" which is on the root of your memorystick.

4. Now place Monkey64 in your game folder.

For people with 1.0 or people using eloader your memorystick should look like this:

E:\N64
E:\PSP
E:\PSP\GAME
E:\PSP\GAME\Monkey64

For people with 1.5 your memorystick should look like this:
E:\N64
E:\PSP
E:\PSP\GAME
E:\PSP\GAME\Monk _
E:\PSP\GAME\Monk_~1%

Now... start up the emulator, and then you should come up to something that says this:

( ) load rom -> WaveRace64.v64
( ) clock speed
etc...

Make sure that the "0" between the parentheses is in "load rom" section and press "X". The light should flicker a couple of times and when it stops go down to "Run Rom" and press "X" again.

Congratulations you are now emulating the N64 on your PSP (well, sorta).

Parts of this guide taken from PSPdemon. :)

Thankyou. We needed this. From now on any problems should hopefully be posted in this thread. ATM there's a lot of homebrew noobs asking questions everywhere.

2.6 owners:

Follow Sn!pers guidelines on installing 1.5, then run the MONK folder from the eloader menu.
Running the psmonkey folder will make the PSP crash.

I agree. This will cut down on the stupid questions like "Monkey 64 only works in the game folder not in the root, and then it won't find roms. HELP!"

Why do I think that sometimes I'm the only one who knows what a readme.txt file is for?

If you did enough searching to find this info, then you should be able to find the answer to that question.

Yes it will work on 2.60, follow the instructions above for 1.0 or people using an eloader.

Yes, you will need an eloader and an actual copy of GTA:Liberty Stories.

Do not ask for an eloader or how to install it and use it, go find it.

I've tried running both versions (1.0-2.0 and 1.5) on 2.6 using the GTA eboot loader. I can get to the loading screen and pick my rom but it gives me an error when I try to launch it. It doesn't crash though, so that's a good sign.

Any suggestions?

I downloaded monkey64 and i only got a rar file and my eloader is not recognizing that it is there. I have it under psp/game can anyone help explain?

DPyro

You need to unrar it and place the monkey64 folder under PSP/GAME folder.

DerekTheJew
May 12th, 2006, 04:39

If your using the microcode Fast 3D Ext, it wont work right. Use the mircocode Fast 3D instead. The chart thingy is wrong.

May 15th, 2006, 20:45
I think these problems occur cause you guys have 2.6....At least most people having problems are using higher firmware.

Wally
May 15th, 2006, 23:02
Could also be the dump of the rom.

bobcobb
May 16th, 2006, 00:25
Well, the ROM does not load very well, and is extremely slow with 2.6.

ok...this is what i have..

F:\PSP\GAME\Monk_~1%\ and then the monkey emulator file with a conkers bad fur day EBOOT. there too.

now the other thing...

F:\N64\conkers bad fur day.v64

and thats the rom. its about 59 mb. The N64 and PSP folder at the very begining of everything. So i think its perfect. The problem is whenever i go on my PSP to GAMES i go down to "Memory Stick" and i press "X" which opens all these games.

the first "game" is Monkey64 and the background is Conker leaning on the Rareware logo while saying," Ohh noo..its gonna be one of those days."

when i press "x" a little box comes up saying,"This game cannot be started. The Data is corrupted. I've tried everything i could think of!!

Please!! Anyone!! Someone!! Help me out!!:(

Filesize. The rom is too big to work. Other then the improper release. No public release by me suports roms larger then 16MB. Conker is 64MB. On top of this Conker uses a custom microcode and is not working cpu emulation wise. So there is no chance it will ever work.
