News/release from Zilog (http://forum.palib.info/index.php?topic=7166.0)

Hi all,

This is the first playable work-in-progress version of my first NDS game.
I have chosen a remake as my first game so I can concentrate on learning C and PALib and not have to worry about anything tricky like game design!

It is a remake of my favourite Commodore 16 game, Squirm. I don't expect many of you have played it before, but I am trying to make this version as faithful as possible to the original (including re-using all original graphics). I will probably include a new graphics set as an option when the game is finished however.

This is the first version so many things are missing like menus, extra levels, sound, helpful messages when you die, actually being able to complete the level, etc. but all these and more will be addressed in due course!

Object:
Navigate around the maze, avoiding the squirms and eating 200 eggs laid by the queen squirm.
If a squirm gets you then you must start over with the egg collecting.

Controls:
d-pad or face buttons

Tested on:
No$gba
DSLite with Supercard Lite (micro SD)
