As announced a few days ago, was finally released by the team at the brand new PSPGEN Custom Firmware 5.50GEN-A, compatible with PSP-1000 and PSP-2000 (excluding those with TA-088v3).

It 'must have:
- PSP-1000 or PSP-2000 (no TA-088v3)
- At least CF 3.52M33-4

- Copy the UPDATE folder into PSP / GAME
- Rename the fw 5:50 in SCE.PBP and copy the UPDATE folder
- Start the installer

- Under Newtwork Playstation has been added to the Information Board.
- In the Internet browser was added support for web security provided by Trend Micro.
- In the menu bar of Internet Browser was added an icon for Internet search.
- In the menu of game options in the game is now possible to perform an internet search.
- You can now see another layer of folders under Photos, Music & Video.

game_categories.prx VSH plugin causes a crash when loading the XMB.

Damn.

I'll do without for now, but I hope this gets fixed soon. ^^;

I think I'll wait a bit to try it, although I really like being able to have subfolders, just not enough to make me change the setup I have right now on my PSP (plugins, custom waves and background, etc)

Works good on my phat.. although LEDA does not work as i thought it wouldn't...

EDIT- This is the first time iv used any other CFW other then DA's..
Ps. i like the Green Recovery menu..

Yea... for some reason every time I launch my Internet Brower it tells me the settings are corrupt and need restored to default.

Hi all.Im noobie.Just bought my psp 2000 from pawn shop and loves it.It came with 3.71 and I foolishly updated to 5.50.Im hopeing I can still run the new 5.50 gen and really enjoy all the love.I have not read anything about haveing to use a pandora battery to install the cfw 5.50.I live in the mountains of Colorado.Great weather and beautiful women.I hope to get to know most of you here. b4nn3d

You must have a Pandora's Battery and Magic Memory Stick to install cfw on any PSP running 3.51 or higher. So yes, you still need the battery to install 5.50 GEN if you're on the official 5.50 firmware.
