to answer my own question

Internet Explorer 6 and for some sites Google Chrome.

I used to like Opera but these days it seems bloated and ive never got on with firefox, i like my faves down the left hand side and seems only IE is good for that.

Primary Firefox

i use IE only for windows update, and when im working on a webpage in windows (2 browsers become handy) but since i mainly use linux thats rare

I am not impressed with chrome yet, theres just nothing special about it that i can see, and it tends to be wonky

safari im indifferent to, and opera just feels like a poorly hacked together firefox

Depends on the OS I use. I typically use Firefox, though I really like Konqueror and I use that most of the time. But there's no Konqueror for Windows as far as I know, so I use Firefox there.
EDIT: Safari's just as terrible on Mac as it is on Windows in my opinion, so I try to carry around a dmg of Firefox on a thumb drive wherever I go where I need to use a Mac.

I use Opera and Firefox, they're both ace and certainly kicks Microsoft's Internet Explorer in the ass any day. I've yet to to Safari and Google Crome. I have used the Maxlon browser, seems okay - still better than IE that's for sure.

I have Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox installed in my computer but I only use Firefox 3.5 beta 4 which is faster than Firefox 3.0, has new features for example Private Browsing like Google Chrome...but Firefox is simply the best Desktop/Laptop browser hands-down.

I used IE WAYYYY longer than I should have. Just recently gave Google Chrome a shot and I love it. The bookmark bar is brilliant and it handles everything I was doing on IE without hogging all the resources. M$ better get their heads out their ass!

Opera on every os I use, Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

Chrome was really a pain to use and I've long ago stopped using Firefox. The last release I really used was 0.93 I think.

Firefox, is there any other.

Tried Opera for a while but a lot of pages were incompatible with it, maybe it has been improved now, but I don't really care

I believe I have Firefox 3.5 and Internet Explorer 7.

Firefox is, overall, a much better and secure web browser with my only complaint being the lack of (or mediocre) font smoother.

PSP mostly, PS3, and Firefox.... or sometimes IE when my habit of clicking IE's icon comes back to me.

IE primary. FF for everything IE can't handle. I know it's "cool" to hate IE, but for me it starts up faster than FF so I prefer to use it.

I'm currently using both Opera and Firefox on my Mac. I'd not really used Opera before as I was happy with Firefox until Mozilla ceased supporting OS X 10.3.9 in their future developments. As a result I seem to be using Opera a lot more. I like it's minimal interface (using the Macintosh native option) very much as it's not too intrusive and leaves loads of room for actual web content.

Mostly Firefox, so I can use add-ons to block adverts / javascript and manage my downloads etc. It crashes sometimes, but then I do usually have about 40 tabs open

I use IE8 when needs must, although I also use IETab in Firefox.

@wraggster:

Do you really like the IE6?
why dont you try IE8 or use Chrome as the main browser?

As a web developer i hope so much everyone stops using this old browser, becuse its so Buggy toi develop for, and very insecure for the user.

I use Firefox (currently Firefox 4 beta) unless the website doesn't support FF (in which case i have to use IE). On mobile i'm restricted to LG opentecheng (its mega sucky but beats opera)

I used to use Firefox, but now I am using Google Chrome. It takes time to be familiar with a browser, so I don't want to change frequently
