View Full Version : Whats the Best Anti Virus (free) at this time

Hi all my lad somehow got trojan horse viruses on one of our laptops, i cant format because i cant get any drivers for the Laptop (an evesham 8317 but other companies have released it in their version of the 8317)

whats the best apart from AVG which wont install. ?

"Avast!" is alright if you can't use AVG.

if you want one for free then you may want to check out Microsoft Security Essentials. Its still in its beta phase, but still worth a look. Microsoft is doing a good job with their software these days...

AVG anti-virus I'd say, though I've not yet tried others.

avast! is the best, I have it on both my PC and laptop plus the same on both my parents PC's and laptops...

My mum keeps saying thank you to the avast! guy when he says the virus database has been updated, as if it's actually doing something important. lol

AVG is kind of ok but made my crappy laptop slow as hell, also the updates were really annoying

You can get most anti viruses working for free these days, it's just a matter of preference LOL

Another free one, I don't know

AVG is a nightmare for most computers made before 2002/2003. It slows them down a lot.
