Despite a bump or two along the way, it seemed that compulsory ID cards were a done deal in the UK. Now, the Financial Times is reporting that the scheme has been shelved. Unfortunately, it seems that this was more a matter of convenience than of concern for citizens' privacy.

The ID cards were a bad idea anyway, all that information on one card... Very easy to manipulate and steal someones information with it all being stored on a microchip.

This is a good thing, hopefully the United Kingdom will take a few more steps away from the NWO (New World Order (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_World_Order_(conspiracy_theory))).
