Hi all,
Here is a new release of the HP48 calculator emulator for PSP.
What's new in version 1.0.4 :
- Load external application or game files and libraries !!! (with .48 and .lib file extentions).
- Hardware reset of the HP48 (inside the application file selector window)
- Add usefull informations in the README file, and in particular all steps to load application or game files (so please read it :) )
The HP48 documentation is there : user guide (http://www.hpcalc.org/hp48/docs/misc/hp48gug.zip)
As far as i know Helwet Packard graciously began allowing HP48 bios to be downloaded in 2000
(you need it, but it is NOT part of my PSPX48 package because it's not GNU !).
This rom can easily be found here : hpcalc (http://www.hpcalc.org/details.php?id=4524")
As always, the package is under GPL Copyright and sources are included.
Enjoy, :)
Zx.
edit: using the pspx48-mem-slots.zip file, you can add two memory slots of 128k to your HP48 :)

Nice work again! Just tried loading a program and it worked perfect!
I noticed the emu shows 128K of memory, like on my real 48G+ !
In fact, it seems to emulate a 48G+ as it has 128K of memory and only port 0 is available.
Does the emulator code allow for activating additional memory on ports 1 or 2 ?
Thanks again for your hard work!

Yes, you can add two more slots of memory :)
Unzip the following archive in your psp/game directory.
It contains two files port1 and port2 representing two memory slots for the HP48 emulator :D
You can now store your .lib files using 1->STO or 2->STO (instead of only 0->STO).

zx-81 you continue to amaze!
The ports work perfect, now the PSP acts just like a HP48GX, complete with both slots filled of ram!
Great stuff, the 48GX's sell on ebay for $300 US and thats without ram cards.

zx-81, you're da man...:D
but as a fan of PSP and hpRPN logic Im wondering...
Is it possible to invert de hp48 backpic modifying the handle and allowing the ordinary/ natural use of the left and right hands in psp:
1...to control w/ left hand, the analog/arrows (thumb) and L trigger (forefinger or other)
and w/ right hand, the circle/cross/square/triangle/select/start (thumb) and R trigger (forefinger or other)
2...and mnemonics correlation between psp-hp48.
arrows(u/d/l/r)...arrows
triggers(L/R)...shifts(L/R)
circle...valid key on cursor [analog is round!]
cross...alpha [X, most used letter in math!]
square...ENTER [the singular hp calc key!]
triangle...backspace [both littles arrows!]
analog/select/start...the same
It's just a suggestion...
or a user's option, like a skin of TI92 (another great release of you!!!::D my 1st calc was a TI)
In fact, these above ideas I got from a mix of your TI92emu handling and your 1st hp48emu release...

It's simple to do. I'm left-handed, that's may be why i've choosen this key mapping :D

not too important, but the psp does have infared, and the sound control beside the headphone jack is serial. even if you dont add those, it it still cool.

It could be cool, but i don't think i will spend time on this kind of feature. I only wanted to have my favorite scientific calculator running on my PSP.

I also like the TI-92 emu, personally I have the Voyage 200 but having a TI anytime with me is a nice thing.
As for the fed up part, no problem ;) Maybe sometime..

The rom should be put in psp/game/pspx48/ and should be renamed 'rom' (without extention).
