Custom Firmware 5.50MHU Released

Xenogears and Becus25, authors of the CFE, issuing their first flashabile Custom Firmware on all PSP mainboard with hackabile (PSP-1000/PSP-2000 except TA-088v3). This is the CF5.50MHU. More details to follow

Installation:

- PSP1000 or PSP2000 (except TA-088v3)
- At least CF 3:52 M33-4
- 5.50MHU (link at bottom of news)
- Fw 5.50

.: Install:.:
- Copy the UPDATE folder into PSP / GAME
- Copy the fw 5:50 in the UPDATE folder and rename it SCE.pbp
- Start the application
- At the end of this update, when prompted, press x to restart the console

.: Note:.:
- Does not work SonyNP9660 driver, use the M33
- Still does not update network

These problems, according to the coder, will be resolved soon with some updates.

WARNING: This CF is not compatible with the PSP-3000 and PSP-2000 with TA-088v3. Ne ion PSP-ITA We assume responsibility for damage / malfunction to your console.

I don't see how compatibility would change from 5.00 to 5.50 on homebrew.... maybe on commercial psp games ( which all my games above 5.00 have worked on 5.00 M33-6 ) and PSN purchases ( although can't you do that via the pc end? )

IMO, there is no real need to update to a later firmware... but then again that just me :rolleyes:

I was saying it is said to have better homebrew compatibility than 5.50 GEN. You must have mis-read the comments mate ;)

Ehh...I'll end up reverting to 5.00M33-6. I don't like this one very much. The video menu is screwed up and it's not as compatible with homebrew. The new Snes9xTYL doesn't work with it on a slim, and NesterJ doesn't work on the phat.
