EA today gives G.I. JOE fans a sneak peek at the special pre-order bonuses that await them for the upcoming G.I. JOE The Rise of Cobra video game. Gamers who pre-order G.I. JOE The Rise of Cobra at participating retailers in North America will receive a special code to unlock select playable characters in their classic uniform from the original 1980's G.I. JOE cartoon/toy series. In addition to the 16 playable G.I. JOE characters based on the upcoming movie from Paramount Pictures, the game's cast of playable classic G.I. JOE characters will include heroes like the crossbow-wielding SHANA "SCARLETT" O'HARA. Additional classic G.I. JOE characters will be revealed closer to the game's launch.
G.I. JOE The Rise of Cobra hits stores this August, and will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable (PSP) as well as mobile phones. Unlock codes for classic G.I. JOE characters are only available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable (PSP) versions of the game.
