they're allways corrupted somehow....
"unexpected end of archive"

I see no file corruption here, though if anyone wants, I can add an alternative RAR archive attachment to the top post.

Ummm... I donwloaded it and got it to run, but I don't quite get how to run the games. Do they have to be in a specific format? Excuse me, I'm new here and have no idea how this works.

And yes, I'm also new to the PSP emulation scene.

This update finally fixes sound entirely. The CDDA audio sounds that were bleeps and blops or wheren't even noticeable before are now fixed...So now we get accurate hitsounds, grunts and screams in CD games like Dracula X, Strider and Fighting Street CD.

Due to close accuracy to the actual system, it can now be said that this is the best PCE/Turbografix 16 Emulator for the PSP at the moment. Just don't bother using the smaller size EBOOT.PBP inside the folder called 081bDG1...that looks like a Developer build and has some bugs.

Ummm... I donwloaded it and got it to run, but I don't quite get how to run the games. Do they have to be in a specific format? Excuse me, I'm new here and have no idea how this works.

And yes, I'm also new to the PSP emulation scene.

First, you need Bios files for this emulator, they are two:

- CD-ROM_System_V2.00_(J).pce
- Super_CD-ROM2_System_V3.00_(J).pce (Runs CD games (.ISO) through .TOC file format)

Secondly, if you want to run CD games you set them up like this: (I'll use Castlevania DraculaX as an example)

- I made a Folder for this game called Dracula _X (J) inside the Emulator...but you can call it whatever you'd like.
- Inside Dracula _X (J) folder you will have the following Music .MP3 files, Game .ISO files, and Game .TOC file:

- 01.mp3
- 02.iso
- 04.mp3
- 05.mp3
- 06.mp3
- 07.mp3
- 08.mp3
- 09.mp3
- 10.mp3
- 11.mp3
- 12.mp3
- 13.mp3
- 14.mp3
- 15.mp3
- 16.mp3
- 17.mp3
- 18.mp3
- 19.mp3
- 20.mp3
- 21.mp3
- 22.iso
- dracx.toc

- The First time you start up the emulator you will first run the bios file of your choice, in this case it's Super_CD-ROM2_System_V3.00_(J).pce
- you will see a message that says cd toc read error, but don't despair, just hit X button.
- Now you will see the main console menu.
- Hit L trigger to go to the emulator menu.
- Before you do anything else, make sure you change the PSP Clock speed to 333Mhz or the games will play ubber-slow.
- Next, Highlight cd change and press O button.
- Now go inside the Dracula_X (J) directory and run DRACX.TOC.
- You are now able to exit the emulator menu and begin playing your game.

Things to keep in mind for mp3's to work:

- if your game does not have a valid .TOC file, then mp3 will not work.
- Mp3 files must follow these credentials:
- Bit Rate of 320kbps now supported
- Channels 2(stereo)
- Audio Sample Rate of 44kHz

This is one of the most hard emulators to get to work, and only people experienced with other PCE emulators could figure it out...so it's not a surprise to me if you couldn't get it running. If you do get it to run, pat yourself in the back for a job well done.

I hope this helps you and others out.

I'm so sorry I didn't post about it earlier, silly me.

You need a valid TOC file in order to hear music, and your mp3s must follow specific credentials that I have posted in my previous post.

Get the TOC files you need here (http://www.necstasy.net/)

What game are you trying to run, btw?

Good luck!

I didn't notice you edited post thank you for giving MP3 info
very much appreciated !!!!!

turborip has /pcep option but i can't use that program on windows 7 because Daemon don't work.

The readme doesn't list specifics about the MP3's it outputs,
and of course the emulator readme is in jap so no help there. Thanks for your help and posts i will keep testing and report back.

EDIT I have an idea Apoklepz, if you have a MP3 that works with this emulator would you post for me a mediainfo of the file. you can get it here
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MediaInfo
thanks so much i hope it's not much trouble. Thankyou

Sorry once again, I just fixed my main post because I've just noticed this latest version of the emulator supports 320kbps after all. :P I was running Strider for the first time and all the mp3 files are 320kbps and sound crystal clear, So I'll probably be updating my Dracula X Chi no Rondo and Fighting Street Mp3s pretty soon for better sound quality.

The older builds only supported up to 128kbps and they still run fine on this one, but better quality mp3s of 320kbps run as nicely and sound better...so sorry for that.

and your toc looks legit, but I just noticed on mine I don't have the last line that reads the Leadout information, so I really don't know if that would have to do with anything. Try running a toc without that line.

And here are the settings you requested:

http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g267/Apoklepz/Sample_Settings.png

hope this helps.

Also, make sure that from the download files here, you are running the eboot.pbp circled in green and not the one in the folder circled in brown...the brown circled folder is uneeded in your PSP as are the rest of the files except that one Eboot.pbp.

THANK YOU very much i have success !!!!! with 320 kbps
Wonderful sound especially with good ear buds :)

the problem was that darn Leadout 49:12:12 LBA 221262
once removed that line everything is working.
Thanks so much for your posts and advice.

Strider was always one of my arcade favorites, I spent many quarters on that one.

Thank you for helping very much appreciated.

Thank you very much.

I have a question though:

I downloaded the Valis IV game (trying to play the Valis series in particular), and I have the files named in the format you explained. However, I have no TOC file. There are two .CUE files named "valis4 (J) mp3.cue" and "valis4 (J).cue".

When looking through the site for locating a TOC file, I did find the Valis games, but instead of a TOC, I found another CUE. What do I do with it? Rename it? Thanks in advance.

B2K24
July 30th, 2009, 02:13
This emulation does not need the cue for any reason at all.
It simply does not use it.
Open you cue in notepad and press CTRL+A then delete everything inside of the cue when opened with notepad.

Necstasy has all the TOC posted for all the games.
http://www.necstasy.net/

highlight all the TOC info with the mouse and press CTRL + C then right click and select paste in the cue that was empty. Be sure to save it then rename the file to vallis 4.toc
or whatever you want as long as it has .toc the emulator will see it.

Here is what exactly needs to be in TOC for valis4

Heheh, it works now. The only problem is that I have a severe chipmunk problem.

The mp3s are played way too fast. Any ideas what could be wrong? And can I say where I got the iso?

I wouldn't publicly post it but if you want send me in a PM
I didn't change any of the options from default except putting CPU to 333 mhz.

If possible use turborip and tocfixer to make sure image is correct.

So is this emulator superior to zx-81's PSP HUGO with CD game support? How so?

I've tried everything. I used cdmage to turn my bin/cues into iso/wav, I used tocfixer to make a proper toc, but when I try to play any cd game all I get is the graphical audio player.

PLEASE...what am I doing wrong?

edit: by the way, the iso's play in psphugo, but with too many graphical glitches to enjoy playing. When I load up the .toc in psphugo, I get the same graphical audio player screen.
