Few franchises have mastered the art of keeping things fresh and keeping the money rolling as much as The Sims – so news that EA will soon be introducing its first paid-for DLC for the iPhone version of The Sims 3 is certainly no shock.
Pocket Gamer reports that five themes are set to be released shortly – Nightlife, Sci-Fi, Gothic, Medieval and University. Each will come with a number of items that players can use to dress their Sims and decorate their houses.
The official EA Mobile Sims website is also running a competition to choose the theme of the next offering. The contenders are Vampires & Werewolves, Rock Star, Hip-Hop, Preppy, 70s, 80s, Lap of Luxury and Jock/Sporty.

As with all other titles hoping to sell in-game DLC, users hoping to take advantage of the content will need to have a 3.0-enabled iPhone or iPod Touch.

There’s no word yet on the release date or prices.
