Its safe. Its been around for a long time, and I can assure you its safe.

Also, for those curious, since its just a place you're telnetting to, it should work on just about anything with a sane telnet client (so, yes it'll work on Linux and Mac OS X as well).

I tried this on my mac yesterday but got bored. It's really neat and I think I've seen it before. Does it last the whole duration of the film? I gave up after a couple of mins :)

I've not seen any GIF's of the cmd?

Though I've seen a few short quick GIF's of the original movies.

In 2006, it had a certain "WOW" factor. But these days it kinda lacks in that department, because it's old. I'm guessing the people you show are aged between 6 and 12, or maybe 35-50.

and yes i know its old but that does not mean that everyone knows about it

Not everyone does, in April 2007 I did a Health & Safety course and the guy sitting next to me in the classroom didn't know about it... Though for some reason it didn't work on the laptops in that room.

i have known about for a long time but for some reason no one else really seemed to.

Everyone here knew about it though.

You have to activate Telnet.

Go to control panel

Then go to Programs and features

Then Turn Windows Features on/off

Then select Telnet.

Then the command will work.
