News/release from Zodttd:

I took a moment to redo vlc4iphone, nearly from scratch. A lot has changed since vlc4iphone v0.9.0 days. The first thing you might notice is the new GUI, which was made by a college student named Derek. Derek did a great job cleaning that portion up! In the GUI you will see certain items marked with the VLC icon and others that are not. This is because vlc4iphone will play back movies using hardware acceleration if supported by the iPhone or iPod Touch.

Here's a list of changes since v0.9.0:

A new user interface.
Bookmarks are now a Playlist.
Create your own playlist.
Support for firmware 2.x and 3.x.
Prev, Next, and Pause buttons added.
M3U and other playlist formats now supported.
Completely rewrote the handling of VLC to use libvlc properly.
Removed the ShoutCast server browser, at least for now.
There's still a lot to do. I want to add support for multiple playlists and a better interface for the "currently playing" media screen. I have tested vlc4iphone extensively with the iPhone 3GS and it runs nearly everything except hi-res 1080p video just fine. RTSP streaming is currently tested and working, though MMS is untested due to a lack of a test stream.

Give vlc4iphone v2.1.0 a try!

Thanks,
