Sixteen-year-old Deng Senshan was tragically beaten to death by three of his instructors in an internet addiction camp in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China. Reportedly it was for not being able to run fast enough. An article in the Wall Street Journal says that, 'China's netizens have played a key role in drawing nationwide attention to recent cases of deaths in prisons and detention centers, so it should be no surprise that they are up in arms over the fate of one of their own. Many questioned the fairly new diagnosis of "Internet addiction" as a mental disorder.' You may recall electroshock treatment being banned from use on internet addicts in China. According to Xinhua, more than 100 juveniles remain in 'treatment' at the camp, which has stayed open. Perhaps for Senshan it would have been better to let him endure his cruel affliction instead of having his parents pay over $1,000 to have him beaten to death?

I could think of many sick and inappropriate jokes for this, though I won't.

But wow, they go there for help... Not to have the sh*t beaten out've them, though there must have been a reason for the beating in the first place?

So they beat him to death.
Pretty ****ed up shit if you ask me.

It is, especially since he was there for help. The father of the boy said he was healthy, so as for not running fast enough... That's just an excuse to cover up the fact they beat him for no reason.

The boy's father, Deng Fei, said he had paid 7,000 yuan (£605) for his son to spend a month at the Guangxi Qihuang Survival Training camp, which promised to rid the boy of his problems.

"My son was very healthy and was not a criminal. He just had an internet addiction when I left him at the camp," he said. "We can't believe our only son was beaten to death."

He claimed the boy had been put in solitary confinement shortly after his arrival and then beaten by supervisors who were upset he was running too slowly.

I lol'd.

I did, at first... To myself anyway.

But it's a serious news story... Though nothing too major, not here anyway because we don't have fat camps for internet addicts (I believe the U.S. have a few though). ::invisible rofl::
