View Full Version : Static Recompiler instead of dyna rec?

Seeing as the hardware inside the psp is quite limited, have you considered using a form of static recompilation instead of dynamic?

this should provide a large speed burst, with the downside being greatly reduced compatibility, although it would mean you could satisfy your goal of running mario 64 on the psp at playable speeds.

well, obviously you can't have a purely static recompiler,but you could use it in conjunction with the dyna rec to reap great speed benefits.

basically, static recompiler "translates" the complete program before execution and does not account for self-modifing code,etc..

I am not fully sure yet. It's something that would need alot of looking over. I think corn used static and it proved to be really good.

I've yet to give it serious though untill I am ready to start on one. My mind is swimming in enough things as it is. :P
