Too bad we can't just start a new thread for the new Daedalus version compatibility. I've got TONS of N64 roms. I'll try 'em out once I get my new PSP.

why can't we?

just start a thread called: Daedalus PSP compatibilty list V2

I dunno, it is kinda messy, but at least this way we can look back at the progress Daedalus has made over all these months.

I get the same problem. But Mario Kart, time trials get about 13 - 20 FPS in game, and about 20 in menu. I got about 9 - 13 FPS on a race with AI.

Beetle Adventure Racing (U) [!].v64 - Playable, Very Slow Ingame, Texture Issues.

<Testing Settings>

Daedalus R7

Save Type: None
Expansion Pack: No
Dynamic Recompilation: On
Texture Update Check: Disabled
Controller: Default
Tesselate Large Tris: On

The startup screens all seemed to display perfectly, and the ingame menu's are very smooth and look great as well. The game's intro runs at about half speed, but ingame it's very slow, around 1.67 fps.

Killer Instinct Gold (U) (V1.2) [o1].z64 - Playable, can get ingame, almost all menus are invisible, corrupted graphics, Dynarec must be off.

<Testing Settings>

Daedalus R7

Save Type: None
Expansion Pack: No
Dynamic Recompilation: Off (Must be OFF to work)
Texture Update Check: Every Frame (The Character profiles look slightly better than if you would have this disabled).
Controller: Default
Tesselate Large Tris: On

I didn't think this game was working at first, when you start the rom the screen will flash like crazy. If you keep hitting buttons though, the screen will stop flasing for a second, and start flashing again, and you usually will see a pink bar across the screen. You should press start at this point, you will go to the character select screen, you can change characters by press left or right on the analog stick and change there colors by pressing up or down as well. After you select your character, player 2 (cpu) will slide onto screen in a mess of graphic corruption. Then the match will start, and you will see the "READY" signal. You can sort of make out the lifebars and even your character in this mass of pink untextured mess. You can (surprisingly) see the pause menu, and select quit and go back to the invisible main menu.

Star Fox 64 (U) [!].z64 - Playable, minor graphic issues.

<Testing Settings>

Daedalus R7

Save Type: Eeprom 4k
Expansion Pack: No
Dynamic Recompilation: On
Texture Update Check: Disabled
Controller: Default
Tesselate Large Tris: On

Starfox 64 works very well on R7, and everything looks and animates the way it should. The only problem is the water and some ground textures are messed up. Besides that minor issue, this game runs very well at around 7-11 fps! I can't wait to see how well it runs it R8!

Yeah I know what you mean! So far the slowest place in the game for me has been when you first enter Corneria City (5fps) and the fastest place in the game is when you're fighting the boss in Sector Y (12 fps).

I was up till midnight testing roms I must say ive got some suprising results and what do you get is

DONT USE .ZIP

this wasts serious time this used to be fast 2-5 minutes now 10 minutes for even a 2meg game to unzip on the fly so please I've waster 30 minutes last time dont do the same.

so im going to unzip all my roms and test them when the storm hits London.

Lego Racers runs very smooth very playalbe but major graphical issues including that the psp is widescreen and the n64 rearly isnt meant for that so its real distorted.

I've got big problems with the lessor known roms (demos) show up on the list but thiers no name to be seen.

and another problem is when i go to take screen shots it slows the emulation down for about 2-3 seconds giving faulse readings on the framerate, but others dont seem to have the same problem

REVISION 8 UPDATE

I tested 4 roms. Mario64, Mario Kart64, Rampage, & MK Trilogy. The first three were playable w/ no noticable graphical glitching. MK Trilogy did run, but at an average of 13fps with major graphical glitches. (The fighters appeared only as silloettes.)
Excellent work.

OK, folks -- I've sat by and watched as everyone's gotten all excited about Daedalus... but I never got around to trying it out, despite all the hype. Now that we've made it to R8, I figured I may as well check things out, and while I'm doing that, I may as well try out all the games I can and post my results for people who come after... I noticed that the compatibility list is rather empty at the moment, so here's my plan: I'm going to test several games a day over the next several days, and post my findings here. It may take me a while, and hopefully I'll be able to run through the whole list before R9 comes out... if not, well... we'll see what happens.

For now, here's a bunch to get things started:

64 de Hakken! Tamagotchi Minna de Tamagotchi World (Japan only) -------------- Runs at nearly 30FPS, but text and graphical errors make it unplayable ----------- Eilonwy05 on R8
64 Oozumou (Japan only) ---------- starts to load, then crashes PSP ------------- Eilonwy05 on R8
64 Oozumou 2 (Japan only) ---------- starts to load, then crashes PSP ------------- Eilonwy05 on R8
Aerofighters Assault ------------ In-game textures mostly missing/purple. Menus: ~20-22FPS in-game ~4.5-11FPS -------------- Eilonwy05 on R8
Aerogauge ------------- Playable! ~20-30FPS in menus, ~8.7-14FPS in-game, but some textures missing (mostly water??) -------------- Eilonwy05 on R8
AI Shogi 3 ------------- gives what I assume is an error message (Japanese), perhaps region check? ---------------------- Eilonwy05 on R8
Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage -------- graphical errors, unplayable ---------------------- Eilonwy05 on R8
All-Star Baseball '99 -------- black screen, freezes PSP ---------------------- Eilonwy05 on R8
All-Star Baseball 2000 ---------- crashes to Daedalus menu ---------------------- Eilonwy05 on R8
All-Star Baseball 2000 ---------- crashes to Daedalus menu ---------------------- Eilonwy05 on R8
All-Star Tennis '99 ----------- Perfect! Full speed/18.8-28FPS, no graphics errors! ----------- Eilonwy05 on R8
Armorines: Project Swarm ----------- crashes PSP, but not before printing debug info to screen (didn't have time to write it down, sorry) -------------------- Eilonwy05 on R8
Army Men: Air Combat --------- flickering between previously displayed graphics and what should be showing,(start menu/Copyright screen or gameplay/level start menu) --------- Eilonwy05 on R8
Army Men: Sarge's Heroes --------- similar to Air Ccombat, flickering between two sets of graphics
Army Men: Sarge's Heroes 2 ---------- Loads, but graphical errors and low framerate (~2-3FPS) make it unplayable ---------- Eilonwy05 on R8
Automobili Lamborghini ------------- More flickering/swapping with previously displayed images ---------- Eilonwy05 on R8
World Is Not Enough, The -------------- nearly all textures missing, runs at 12-17FPS in game --------------- Eilonwy05 on R8

P.S. -- I noticed that a few of the games I tested on R8 were unplayable because of that flashing thing going on, and some were listed as playable if not slow on previous releases... maybe StrmnNrmn can take a look at what might have changed between older versions and R8 that would affect these games...?

Well it makes time pass.

Few issues with it
1) Dreamweaver doesnt like cells over 44000 or so pixels so it makes them white (Still visible on the site though).
2) Table thingys disappearing...
3) Etcetra etcetra

I also found that its much easier and quicker to test with a 2gb mem stick, and the back to emu feature! (thank god!)

I was messing around and found out that FORSAKEN 64 runs really well. The only prob is that enemies show up as purple. Everything else is is great. Even the controls work well. Too bad this game isn't that great. But I guess it isnt that bad either. I will try to post some pics. CUSTOM ROBO also works really well BUT there are not texture...just purple. Too bad.

Quest 64 so far works quite well for me, the text is horrid though, but its smooth, and looks pretty good for textures too.

Yes, I can play the (J)[!] version of Smash Bros. on my PSP, but you need to get past the Menu selections and you can't even see it...lol....If you own the N64 one, it helps, but It's not even worth it, though...The players look all pink and it's very slow at this point.

I think thats the file, because i have that running on my pc with some emulator, and the textures arent working, were your textures green when you first go inside the, uhhh what is it, when you go over the draw bridge-then a little bit farther and your in the market?

wow, that was an extreme run on. my English teacher would be pissed.

YAY! I'm almost at the end of Mario 64! Two things I've noticed in the long run:
The emulator will not save progress if you opt to "Save and Continue"...this happens 90% of the time, however it will always save if you opt for "Save and Quit" although this takes you to the game's Mainmenu, but it's not a real biggie.
Secondly, If it hasn't been mentioned already, you can clock the PSP at 333mhz & run your MP3 music through IRshell while playing Daedalus, and the emulator will work the same, but with music!...I'm just posting this for people who aren't aware of it yet, and people who are kind of annoyed that they keep playing this with no sound...I use my own music mostly like Puya, Pink Floyd, Billy Talent, Tupac & Linkin Park, but if you wanna go grab the original soundtracks to play the games with go check out Galbadia Hotel...the have a vast collection of video game/anime MP3's.
Can't wait for the next Spiff-up release! Keep up the great work guys!

i got extreme g to work.

i got abunch more to run.

THPS 2: works!!!! the begining sponsors were mest up (purple, not visible) and the main menu with the skate wheel worked fine (except you could only see one option, which was the one that you want to pick, the top of the skate wheel) it moved correctly and every thing. after carreer mode, it normally says continue carrerr, new carreer, ect. but this the writing is in purple. at character selection screen, bios are in that purple and character is not visible. the picture of the character howerever is (edit: when you pass bob burnquist it doesnt come up, but when you get to level select, you see the picture of the person you pic). level picture is visible, but objectives arent. thats ok though, because since you own the game, you should know what they are. pause menu is in that purple, but again you should know what they are.

Star Fox: PERFECT!!!!! the game works amazing, even though it doesnt have sound. Textures are awesome, no mest up wording, fps is perfect. One thing though, on the first level the ground (grass, not the water) is a littel flashy. The water effects are amazing.

Wave Race 64: uh, went up to character selection, then froze up.

Rainbow Six: Good working intro, but in game, textures were purple and stuff.

THPS: intro was fine, but wont go into game, when i hit start it says demo mode and it shows skaters, uh, skating.

1080 avalanche: doesnt load

Duke Nukem 64: loads, menu is mest up, when your ingame, you cant see your gun, very glitchy.

Castlevania: "controller not inserted"?

Castlevania legacy of darkness: "controller not inserted"

Goldeneye: when i start, goes right back to daedalus main menu

I have a bunch of pics, how do i upload them?

Ok, just beat Mario64 today...I would say this is the best playable game on this emu right now, since there's very few textures that don't show up right, and if you happen to grab the (U) [t2] (speed).v64 version of this rom, you'll notice it runs much faster...duh... I recomend it....Now I'm gonna take on Zelda Ocarina of Time, to see if I can beat it the whole way through...wish me luck guys!

Uh, just so everyone knows, im using standard .v64, .z64, or .whatever64 files. also, im not using 333mhz.

THPS3: uhhhh, this one was bad, i guess you could be able to play it ,but the foundry level was kinda wack, yo.

Turok 2: seeds of evil: .43 frames per second.

turok 3: shadow of oblivion: .43 fps

007: world is not enough: 60 fps on menu, like 30 fps in game, except its in that purple, letters come up fine though.

The legend of zelda: ocarina of time: master quest:
the game had 6fps mostly, went down to 2 when i came out of menu, goes to around 11 fps when climbing.

Banjo-Kazooi: slowwww

Extreme G II: uh, this one didnt work

thats all for now!

none of them have sound, the code is still at an early stage of development and its a major achievement that it works aswell as it does.
On the plus side if your running irshell you can play your mp3's through it if you put the cpu clock speed upto 33Mhz, hoipe this was some help..Mike

hey ppl- im a homebrew n00b :(

daedalus 4 me (i'm on FW2.8 though) works pretty well, but i've had a couple of problems:

Doom64-------starts occasionally, corrupted, pink textures
Mario 64- excellent, no probs there

Starfox- pretty good, just some bugged textures in the beginning of the first level and quite low frame rate

It looks like to compatibility list out of date? What settings versions are you guys using? N64 Super Mario 64 is my main interest. I love that game. I downloaded the t2 speed version rom as was suggested. Was hoping someone could report their game settings/suggestions. I guess where I am a little hazy is running at 333 with ir shell some guidance/links would be mucho appreciated. Thanks ever so much

OK, initial thoughts:

I don't know if this is the emu of my psp, but the analogue nub on Daedalus sticks slightly in the 'right' position, which makes some games very bizarre to play...

Goldeneye 007------------returns me to rom browser-----------throughsilver, Daedalus Shifty

Bust A Move '99-------------runs pretty slowly, some characters are in black-face---------------throughsilver, Daedalus Shifty

Super Mario 64-------------slight speed issues, level one boss is almost completely invisible (black sphere is not there)----------------throughsilver, Daedalus Shifty

Fighters History 2------------------speed issues, in-game screen is just grey nothingness-----------------throughsilver, Daedalus Shifty

Killer Instinct Gold---------------crashes at black rom initialization screen. Eventually runs, but unplayably glitchy---------------throughsilver, Daedalus Shifty

Mario Tennis--------------------Tantalisingly close to working. Screen goes purple for all loading, got to character select screen, and psp shut down-------------------throughsilver, Daedalus Shifty

Sin & Punishent----------------Starts up, goes purple and stops at what I presume is the options screen-------------------throughsilver, Daedalus Shifty

yeah thats true someone should.. most ppl just repost "i like mario 64" there are more games that work, but not too many. aerogage, mario kart, mario 64,starfox, and bust a move are prety much the only games that could be considered playable with VERY little graphical errors and prety decent speed

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (U) (v1.0).z64 --- the fps is around 6 or 7 and there are very few texture problems but best of all it does NOT crash. If only it would play faster for 2.80 FW.

Dont worry I know wally is trying his best to get the speed up on games, but it makes it hard when there hasnt been a new release of Daedalus in so long and StrmNrmn has been out of contact.

The following tests were conducted on a 1.5 psp running the emulator version R4 through irshell and overclock to 333MHz Sry for not using the colors, just read the review and you can imagine how playable it is.

Super Smash Brothers-----------Intro movie runs MUCH faster, at around 10 fps. Menu text now shows.

Starfox--------- Runs slower than the other version. At the menu's the game goes as fast as 3 fps. can actually get to the first level of single player mode, but crashes before it gets in game. Training mode works just like in last time.

Super Mario 64----------- about the same opening speed, at about 7 fps. Shading on the characters is now correct, no more blue. Text boxes now have a black background. Textures in the 1 star door also work, and dont ruin the castle textures once the level is left. Textures only started up replacing others after slippin and sliding away on lv3. Overall runs slower in my opinion then the R3 version.

Rocket: Robot on Wheels--------Loads up starting surprisingly fast at 25 fps. HOwever, it crashes when trying to load a game.
