SuccessHK (http://www.success-hk.com/affiliatewiz/aw.asp?B=112&A=50&Task=Click) have posted that they have the SanDisk Memory Stick Pro Duo 4GB w/ Adaptor for $190

Looking around the net it seems to be the cheapest deal for legit Memory Cards for the PSP out there.

The price seems lower than I initially thought it would be.

With the recent developments & tricks now allowing most games to now play on 1.50 PSP's i NEED to upgrade my 2GB to a 4GB. However I want the Sandisk Ultra II 4GB. I have yet seen it for sale anywhere. Only pictures and description on sandisc's website.

Also Sandisk is soon releasing EXTREME III memory sticks that are even faster than the Ultra II's. And the Ultra II's are damn fast so can't wait for the Extreme III's. Below is what they look like:

If anyone spots a 4GB PRO Duo Ultra II or EXTREME III, please post where.

i know it's a lot of memory, but aren't they just a little too expensive to be buying right now? the prices will probably drop by summer or fall.

I'd buy one if I could find one. I don't want this one b/c it sticks out of the magic gate w/ that adapter, so it's of no use. But I would love to have a 4GB card for ALL of my homebrew, mp3s, BOR mods and ISOs. (Legal backup kind)

Yeah but then you would end up never buying anything, always waiting for the next price reduction.

No such thing as a legal backup ISO if you live in the US.

BTW, the adaptor is just so you can use the stick in a regular non-duo memory stick slot. You don't need to use it in the PSP, the memory stick is the standard MSD size.

oooh, that's only like 110 quid! :)
But now the extreme IIIs are comming, I think I will wait.

I'm more interested in the whole buying extra nand flash memory chips at the moment... which might cost a bit if i have to buy them in 1000's :(

It's either quite expensive for a fake or quite cheap for the real deal.
You decide ;)

Will the new 4GB memory sticks work OK in PSP's using f/w 1.50? I believe (please tell me if I'm wrong) that 4GB sticks should be compatable, but has anyone ACTUALLY tried to find out?!

With various makes/formats of memory stick increasing in storage size all the time, how long until home PC's start using these instead of HDD's I wonder...!

Hey just a question if i get a 8 gig memory card by the way are real just not released yet will i have to update my psp from 1.5 to whatever? I think theres a limit on it like 4gig max but with a firmware update that wont be a problem except...THERE WONT BE HOMEBREW. lol so if this is true keep that in mind who knows maby someone will come up with an app that will fix that problem looks like i might have to stick with the 4 gig. Thanx for answers

For Firmware 1.50 the largest PSP can recognize is 4GB. Of course that ends up being 3.8 a large portion gets utilized by the partition I believe.

Ya but you still need to update to get anything better and ISH420ISM the lag would be barly noticiable. Not the Datel 4 gig hard drive. This sandisc 4 gig memory card is the best for 1.5. and with a larger battery i'm all set.

if a 4gb card (which is not totally 4gb anyway) ends up with 3.5 free and usable, thats still great for me.

yep speed.

SanDisk Ultra II is roughly 5 times faster than standard SanDisk.
SanDisk Extreme III is roughly twice as fast as Ultra II and almost 10 times faster than standard SanDisk! :)

Sandisk (Standard)
read/write = 12-13X :: 15 Mbps :: 1.875 MB/s

Sandisk Ultra II
read = 66X :: 80 Mbps :: 10 MB/s
write = 60X :: 72 Mbps :: 9 MB/s

Sandisk Extreme III
read/write = 120X :: 144 Mbps :: 18 MB/s
