It's official: Xbox 360 Elite Price Drop

Starting Friday, August 28th (tomorrow) the price of the Xbox 360 Elite is getting a one-hundred dollar price cut in the United States.

Here is how the new pricing breaks down for the US:
Xbox 360 Elite $399.99 now $299.99
Xbox 360 Pro $299.99 now $249.99 (While supplies last)
Xbox 360 Arcade $199.99 $199.99


For the UK its a little different. While the elite drops £30, the Pro is the same price (and being phased out) and the Arcade's price is raised by £30 :(

Here is how the new pricing breaks down for the UK:
Xbox 360 Elite £229.99 now £199.99
Xbox 360 Pro £169.99 now same price but being phased out
Xbox 360 Arcade £129.99 now £159.99

Hmm, a $300 Elite, eh? Sounds nice. :)

I'm just wondering why they would raise the price of the Arcade model. :/

its because the £ has been weak this last year against the $ and the €. The price of the Wii went up a few months ago
