News fromPSP3D (http://psp3d.com/showthread.php?t=7388) :

Looks like Sony is already getting user feedback on what they want their future "PSP 2" to be. Video output to TV, cell phone, GPS, hard drive, camera, audio enhancements, IM, text messaging, radio, language translation, PDA-like applications, backwards compatibility with PlayStation 1, and future compatibility with PS3. These are all things Sony is asking for opinions on in a survey sent out via email to their "GAP" members at the official PlayStation.com forums today.

Sony is asking people what they want?
Instead of forcing there own ideas on us and telling us we want them.

I'll take all of the above. I noticed it said Playstation 1 backward compatibility. That would surely be great. Just also make sure that PSP1 games are backward compatible as well. I won't get the PSP2 unless it plays ALL UMD games.

Hmm i think its a little early for the PSP2 , i mean screw paying $400 (AU) and finding out 2 years later your handheld is outdated and worth nothing , i think PSP2 should come out 2009

Not only do you make a good point your completely right.
The psp is now only a year old even less then this in other countries that got there release date much later then the us.

Its completely unreasonible to have a new system this soon after its predisessors launch
I couldnt agree more :p

Ive gone rep happy today, Score one point for you bro :p

Cheers mate, Another concern i would have for the PSP2 would be the lack of homebrew, sony would have learned from there previous mistakes and made sure security was tight as , i have no desire to take apart my PSP2 and mess with the insides attaching a Bulky MOD-CHIP , i think this survey SONY has sent out isn't for a PSP2 but for firmware 3.00

this sounds like it's gonna be great! I can't wait to get PSP2 with 8GB of built-in flash mem.

Why do so many people want to do X with their PSP? Isn't GAMING the thing we should focus on?

All I would want for the next-gen PSP is: make it feel lighter and smaller, make it much more robust.

And: if you can, put a second analog stick on there.

And: If you want to compete with the DS: make the screen "touch"able.

That's it!

Another Opt-In: Pull out everything that isn't related to gaming!

PSP2? wtf, psp just came out a year ago. and what about homebrew? Will that be gone forever? sony just wants to get rid of us homebrewers forever, thats all.

i wouldn't buy a new psp this early, or even at all if sony doesn't wise up and make a flip open design. The screen is far too precious, i am protective of my screen as it is.

i dont think this means anything about psp2. when u think about it all of those things can be done with a firmware update.
the only exception would be the mini hard drive, but still they could make one that plugs into you memstick port.

oh my .. when i read this i get a headache.
i bought my psp 2 weeks ago (with 2.0 to 1.5 :D ) an put some emulation an more on it and still need to buy a bigger memory stick and you want a new psp(2) ?

the games now are not very revolutionary but it needs time. I think the hardware of the psp will be used better in the future an better games will come :). Imho a psp2 will be a disaster :D:D:eek:
