umm... is there any way to speed it up on 2.6. I have the none intro one of 0.4.2 and it is going slow for me.

This really depends on what game you are playing, there are a couple of tricks like playing the PAL version of a ROM (20% speed increase) using frameskip or increasing the clock speed of your PSP to 333Mhz. Also changing the emulation mode (Accurate to approximate) may also give you an increase but it really does vary from game to game. Experiment and see what you come up with. ;)

I think the best version is 0.4.2me, but you have to have 1.5 to use it. If you don't have 1.5 the best version is 0.4.2

Just a little question, i just got a psp, FW 1.51, if i have 1.51 it means it´s not 1.5 and this will not work?

Upgrade to 2.0 (DON'T UPGRADE TO 2.71, so DON'T go to network update). Then downgrade to 1.5. If you need help upgrading and downgrading search the forums.

Been waiting for this forever! Finally another Ad Hoc emulator. I've got Dgen, NesterJ, SMS Plus, and now SNES9xTYL with Ad Hoc. That only leaves Daedalus and RIN without it. (Obviously it's not a high priority for Daedalus and M64, but I'm still hoping someone would add it to RIN...I think the source is out and Chris Swindle has given his Ad Hoc code, too, I believe...Oh well this is great for now.)

The action replay in this emulator never stays on. Codes activate and then deactivate, the other types do the same as well. None of the codes that freeze values will work properly. Could you look into it? Thanks

I tried this awhile back and after putting in a cht.file in the saves folder I got the same problem (Which never happened in the past)Plus it's too damn hard to set a rom at perfect speed.

Additionally cheat code functionality was implemented as a last minute bonus and doesn't work properly, it should be fixed for the next release (whenever that will be).

As I said, cheat codes were a last minute bonus implementation, its WAY down on the priority list. It is on the list of things to be fixed for the next release though.

Well, fucht, you probably have to turn on the menu click sounds. For me, they were off by default.

Games with dynamic shadows (usually when they have transparencies) and similar special effects run really slow for me. Games without special effects run just fine, or they run just fine when there are no special effects around. (I have GTA eLoader.)
I don't know how to really explain what would pass as a special effect in the SNES. Mainly just shadows and transparencies.
Is there any way to turn off special effects? I'm pretty sure they have their own layer on SNES emulators, though snes9xTYL doesn't let the player turn off layers, and I'm not sure if turning off the SFX layer (if it exists) would remove the SFX so they don't take up memory or just hide them so they still take memory.

what firmware version did you have before?
if it makes you feel better, you probably have the TA-082 motherboard, which cant be downgraded yet...

I hear some website is selling 1.5 motherboards (or whatever they're called) for $100, which is certainly very expensive, but a lot cheaper than buying a used PSP (that and used PSPs usually have nasty problems), and you would be able to do homebrew a lot sooner.
I wish I didn't have a stupid TA-082... Then I could downgrade. eLoader's still good, though.
I know this sounds stupid, but would it be possible to do 2.80 stuff like Flash on a 2.60 PSP? I would imagine not, but it'd be nice if there was a way.

fileassistant++ v1.1 has a built in flash player, although its not that good, still, it could work (you need v1.1 as v1.0 doesn't work on 2.0+)

If your game goes slow, then it's probably the game itself. Some games that I've played, such as Star Fox or Gundam Wing: Endless Duel will constantly go slow in-game, probably because of transparency effects. Though, Star Fox has more than shadows to worry about.
Other games that I've played, such as Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Mega Man X go at full speed (except when a special effect is on-screen such as a screen wipe or, again, a transparency effect, which for Mega Man X would be charging a weapon or a searchlight in the background or something).

I've got the latest TYL 0.4 me version from YoyoFR's official site,and it worked like a charm.....So now when you continue with a saved game,then the sound isn't gone annymore..So if people stil have problems with no sound after a saved game, download the latest version at YoyoFR's site...I'm so happy:D

I would like to mention that I have problems in games pressing L+R.

I have rebinded the menu combo press to Start+Select but pressing L+R for game functions in this emu doesnt work for me.

You need L+R in games like Contra Alien Wars.

I seriously tried searching through all these posts but found none helpful. If I missed this topic elsewhere sorry.
When I run this snes emu on 1.50 my system freezes right after the main screen (where it tells you who worked on it and the stars fly out) and I look at a pretty blank screen until I reboot.
Anyone know what I may have done wrong?

Yes theres a bug where the intro screen doesn't boot if you have used a certain save slot of Grand Theft Auto. Either delete all your GTA saves or search this forum for the "non intro" version that someone made. Hope that helps.

Hello, I am extremely desperate for help.

I've had my PSP for almost 2 years now and have been trying to add emulators and all that but never once has it worked for me.

Currently I have the snes9xtyl 0.4.2 and a PSP with 2.8 firmware.

The way I see it is I'm doing something wrong, so would anyone mind giving me step by step instructions on what to do after downloading the snes emulator?

First you need to understand that everytime Sony has released a firmware upgrade not only have they introduced extra features but they have also tried to stop the methods by which you can run non-official applications (ie homebrew). This is because unfortunately a large number of users are mainly interested in using software that allows them to play pirated copies of PSP games and this loses Sony and the software developers money.

Next you need to understand that each major upgrade to the PSP firmware usually takes a fair amount of time for an exploit to be found which will allow homebrew like emulators to be run or for you to unofficially downgrade your PSP to a lower firmware which can run homebrew.

Your lesson from this should be DONT UPGRADE YOUR FIRMWARE if you want to run homebrew. If you like the new features that Sony release with each new Firmware version be patient, because higher level firmwares can usually be emulated on lower firmwares or achieved through "Custom Firmware" releases.

If you have 2.80 FW then you may be able to run homebrew on your PSP, as far as I am aware it isn't possible to do so yet on 2.81 or 2.82.

Go here to look at the timeline update and find the method by which you can run Homebrew.

It looks likely that a downgrader for 2.80 may be released soon but please see below.

Lastly make sure you know what motherboard your PSP has before trying to downgrade your firmware, as trying to downgrade below 2.5 on one of the newer TA-082 hardware will brick your PSP.

Sry man.... I would seriously recommend trying to find someone who doesn't play their PSP much and see if its a low firmware model and then just iether fast swap ;) or trade... cause otherwise i can guarentee you, you will be stuck homebrewless for a while.

Thats not possible. The PSP's maximum clock speed is 333mhz. Running at 888mhz would drain the battery within a few seconds and probably overheat the PSP to the point of destruction.

mU$!c: This is a problem with your PSP's analogue stick not the emulators. I have used both since they were released with no issues.

Neither of those emulators access your PSP's internal flash.
Neither emulator has a cursor, I'm assuming you mean the selected (highlighted) menu option moves around by itself.

If your brave enough, you could look into the process this thread (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=42638) suggests to correct analogue stick problems.

Any news on an update for SNES9xTYL? I havent heard anything about this one in a loooooong time.

can someone e-mail me and let me know how to get htis to work? I have a TA-82 and went from 2.71 to 3.02 OE-B and I dowloaded snes9x and NES emulators for mine and when I try to load them off my mem.card it wont work so I deleted it off the PSP ... what do I do to get snes working and I have some ROMS and they end either in .fig, .z, .smc..... please someone help for the love of GOD!!! [email protected]!!! I will greatly $how appreciation.

Just copy the homebrew to ur memory stick under the game folder then go to recovery mode and set the folder to 1.5 Kernal . Be happy ;)

The roms u want to play should be copy under the ROM folder

Maybe if you werent being a criminal and trying to sell copyrighted material they wouldnt have removed your listing,try reading ebay rules. Also try reading forum rules about spamming, I am surprised you still have an account when all you do is spam, you dont contribute anything...
