Does the DC one support screen rotation yet?

chui
May 11th, 2006, 14:13
MAME core allows screen rotation and a lot of video drivers can blit using different rotations, for example cps1: 1941, Mercs, ...
But, there are some video drivers without this capacity too, like system16.

For now, MAME4ALL only use video hardware for scaling machine video resolution.

Sorry to be dumb, but does that mean I cannot rotate the DC for games like terra cresta etc? Im not bothered about alternative blits etc just 90 degree screen / control rotation.

Also on Control configuration will there be support for teh DC arcade stick?

This is another excellent emu btw Chui well done.

DCiberia (http://www.dciberia.net) comments and shows some screenshots of MAME4ALL artwork menu system:

Main menu for choosing MAME4ALLs:

MAME4ALL/Classic:

MAME4ALL/Gold:

Its pretty and easy to use: for exit of a MAME4ALL (aged, classic or gold) to main menu for choosing another MAME4ALL, you only have to hold left analog pad 2 seconds, like exit of a game to MAME4ALL rom selector.
Swap between MAME4ALLs spend 8-10 seconds.

Terra cresta works very well, dont worry for rotation, coctail mode is supported.

i must agree with josiii,
True that.
If i ever find that IMR Mame disc along with all those aol coasters, i'll bust it up and flush it like a bad smell.
You guys, DCIiberia, are the best. You're really pumping good quality stuff out for dc, and you keep on rocking all the time.
amazing. simply amazing. ... does anyone, ron or chui, know about the drum toy thing? (sorry for off topic).

Can someone tell me where the roms need to be located using the win32 test version as i have them in a roms folder in the same directory as the binary and i keep getting the error, "ERROR: NO AVAILABLE GAMES FOUND".

Hi,

I have noticed that the colour is wrong on most of the Konami games which use the Nemesis / Gradius set-up the colours are washed out like th brightness is set to max.

also some of the sega games (Quartet, fantasy Zone and Time scanner) have corrupt gfx, These are also based on the same set of hardware.

Is it possible to alter the key configuration simply?

Simple reason - in the setup I have, I don't have an analogue stick - I only have the D-Pad and A/B/X/Y/START. I do have L & R but they are wired up as digital buttons.

This is all because I have my dreamcast hooked up to an arcade cabinet, and I didn't hook the analogue joystick up. I could try taking your source and rebuilding it.

Also - I cannot get an up-to-date version of the new code - only seems to have the 25/04 preview on your site.

Oh right !

Next release i will add this key combination:

L+R+Start = Insert credit.
A+B+X+Y = Exit.

I have a arcade stick for Dreamcast too :D

hi...
im having the same problem as turnerl, i'm afraid to say, and i am using the /roms/ directory. i put some roms in there and in zip format, just like i did in the pre- release version, now it says no roms, just like the other person, turnerl and in not just on the DC, but also on my pc. could it be the program itself? I also found that the download on the site wasn't "complete" in winrar. i used another copy i got a couple days before... i don't know what to do.

yep still having the same problem, "ERROR: NO AVAILABLE GAMES FOUND".

I'm putting the zipped roms in the correct folder /roms and get the same error on both win32 and dc versions.

And yes i'm using the 34/35 version of the roms.

Just when I thought there would never be a great MAME emulator for the Dreamcast, along comes MAME4ALL! This is a quantum leap ahead of other efforts, with better compatibility, a better interface... better everything, really. My compliments to the chef- er, designer!

Would MAMEa4ll get full speed on running CPS1 Q-sound games with sound if there exists a FAZE core ?

After canning mame on the psp I bought a second hand dremcast for the sole purpose of 2d fighting games, and mame4all ...and im not disapointed! :)

This emulator is fantastic!!!

Im really looking forward to the next version with the new options for insert credit/exit etc.

Im stuggling getting the neo geo emulators to work on DC, but for now mame4all is eating up all my time anyway.

Cheers peeps, keep up the good work! :)

I had the same problem occur with the PC version; my ROMs were all in upper-case (i.e. "GAMENAME.ZIP") because I had ripped them from a .cdi of an earlier release of MAME4ALL. I used a freeware program called File Renamer, renamed them all to lower-case and both the PC and DC versions of the emu ran them fine.

Get the program here:

Thankyou, boogabooga I ripped them from the same image and yes they were all in upercase.

Wish someone could have told us that the roms needed to be in lower case only :( anyway great fix thanks! It will help alot of people.
