Charnold (http://www.caweb.de/) has released a 3D Engine for rendering Dungeons, heres the info:

"I've made a very simple 3d engine for rendering dungeons. Right now you can just walk around and load levels. The levels can be defined easily in ascii files. I have tested only on firmware 1.0. Maybe someone can test under other versions?

Hope I can make some game out of this soon...

It works on 1.5, I think its awesome. but is it possible to add in full 3D models rather then the "Dungeons" the square walls and all, is it possible to render thousands of triangles?? and is it possible that the program could incorperate 3D models from say, 3D Studio Max at some point? it might not be to hard to add collada file support for the model loading..

either way, its a sweet engine..

I'll post the 1.5 eboots, hope I dont get in trouble for modifying it to 1.5 loading..

This works on 2.6! (crashes occasionally when booting...)

This app has GREAT potential in my opinion... think a Ultima Underworld (or some other 1st person 3D RPGstyle game) or Wolfenstien 3D/1st person shooter.

I think maybe for now you should look at lighting possibilites... light sources, shading...

again, impressive...

Hey, think about a Zelda or Final Fantasy (only the dungeons duh!) game!!

It does, if you went on to level 3, you would have seen a Lara Croft look alike, wielding a rail gun, in full 3d. It was pretty good looking and animated (just a breathing animation). Looked great and I am certainly looking forward to more from this author in the future.

I saw the models for that, I just never knew how to get through to a different level, just ran around in circles..

I see your using doom 3 models for laura and the rail gun, but I wondered about the walls rather, can the environment be modeled and imported?
