Its been a while since Team M33 released an updated Custom firmware and if you can believe what some sites post on the internet we may never see an update.

Throw into the mix the countless real and fake Custom firmwares knocking about at the moment and you have a really confusing scene for experianced users and newbies.

So Whats the Best Custom Firmware and Why?

Unless Dax announces his retirement it'll always be M33 with 5.00 M33-6 at top of list and M33 filling the lower places, i never bricked a Psp yet so stick to what i know.

My thoughts^

But on the other hand, something like 6.00 M33 or GEN would be the best, as I can't play new games unless I join the darkside of the force AKA Sony OFW

go buy the game play it and just down grade it back when your done if you have a ta-85 mb or less me i have a slim 5.50gen-b and a phat with 5.00m33-6 gen-b is very good for my slim it plays every emulator without a prob but not the case with the phat so i keep it 5.00m33-6 so it really depends on what you have i like gen cause it has a better recovery menu i like that it makes it so easy to make a pandora battery now any noob can do it

I still have 5.00 M33-6 as well and do not tend to install any other Firmware than M33. Hopefully Dark_AleX will release a new CFW in the future.

LOL I might sound old for saying this but to me the absolute best firmware for it's time is 3.52m33 update 4 that was as good as cfw get but for now It's 5.5 gen because I can use psn again and play ff7 on psp with the trouble of converting.

Well, for me it all depends on my current needs. I currently dual-boot (thru Pandora) 6.00 OFW and 5.00 M33-4 on my Phat (Here's a tut: here (http://upsp.ws/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=50) ) in preparation for getting Gran Turismo, so right now, 5.00 M33-4 is the best IMO because it's the highest CFW that can be booted from a memstick:p

I still enjoy 3.40 OE-A

If it could support newer games, I would still have it on my PSP. It was very stable, all the homebrew worked on it, and I didn't have to deal with THEMES to customize my PSP, I had fll control over how I wanted my PSP to look, and it was awesome.

m-33 all the way. Never had any issues with it. Props to GEN for what they are doing but I just haven't seen any reason to make the switch. Am also with the rest of you hoping that one day DAX will pop back up and bless us all with a new CFW :D

5.00 M33-6 for me. I keep hearing about various homebrew capability problems with 5.50 GEN-B so I just avoid it. If I upgrade, I wanna be damn sure that everything I've got works.

I still use 5.0 m33.

It's still top dependable, but could it be the CFW equivalent of
The Last of the Mohicans ? ö

If so, GEN-B looks like the best option.

Like many others, Dark_Alex's 5.00 M33-6. However if the 5.50 GEN firmware had more compatibility with plugins like Hold and popsloader, I'd be happy with that.

Well let us pray to the sins we have done and pray for a new m33

as i posted before, i use both, one on each PSP i have, and the hold+ plugin from 5.00m33-6 works perfectly with 5.50GEN

GEN-B compatibility seems better with some PSP than others.

Yeah, it also plays the games that 5.00 firmware can't

Thanks to Yoshihiro

5.50 GEN B2, for the sub folders, and, since yesterday, I can now play games that require the 5.55 firmware
