Hi All,
Here is a new version of PSPBEEB the BBC Micro Emulator for PSP.
What's new in version 1.0.5 :
- In the key mapping editor, PSP keys can now be left unassigned
- Disk image can now be loaded on the two drives of the BBC Micro (and not only on drive 0).
For those who missed the 1.0.4 version :
- Fix CAPSLOCK bug
- Fix auto-load bug with clock at 222 on 1.5FW
How to use it ?
Have a look to the README.txt file !
Two binary versions (for 2.x and 1.5 FW) and sources are included in the zip archive.
Sources are included, and this package is under "Beebem" license, read COPYING.txt file for more information about it.
I hope this is the last version, because i focus now on other PSP developments :D
Enjoy,
Zx

Lol ! I've to say i'm not a specialist of BBC micro, i didn't know this computer before starting the porting of the BeebEm emulator :o :o
From the several games i've tried for debug purposes, i like fortresss (the one on the screenshot), snaper and Thrust ... but i'm sure there are plenty other good games :D

When i will succeed to make ColEm (Colecovision emu for many OS such as Linux or Windows, sunOS etc ...) running on Linux, we can imagine to port it on PSP ... Having a look on the code it's seems less complex than Caprice 32. :)

Here here! ZX is the coder that likes to say "YES!" :) I didnt even think he'd entertain the idea of porting a SAMcoupe emulator :o
Anyone else on this forum own (or have owned) a SAMcoupe?? (Tell me Im not alone in the world!)

About the original GUI of SimCoupe (the Sam Coupe emu) sorry, but i can't keep it on the PSP version ... I will use the same interface as PSPCap32 and PSPBeeb. ;)

you say 1000.... you actually mean all 10 of you. ;)
i never had a sam coupe... my speccy was good enough, and then i went the way of the amiga. :D
curiously... since some emualtors (i think) do both, would you (zx-81) make the Sam Coupe emualtor backwards compatible to the speccy?
pspectrum is undergoing some excellent development at the moment, and my heart does lie with it, but there's nothing wrong with a bit of healthy competition!

I'm porting the SimCoupe emulator (cvs version for linux), and i really don't know if it is backward compatible or not ...

ok... a quick google of SimCoupe revealed "no" as the answer (at least, i think the website's faq would say so if it was possible)
good luck though mate... you seem to love the retro computer emulation!
ever thought about doing a decent psp port of uae? nah... didnt think so. hehe.

The Sam Coupe emulator sounds interesting. A friend had one but I never saw any games running.
On the subject of PSPBeeb I think it's certainly a job well done.
The only improvements I can think of would be to centre the screen and make it full height.
What do you think ZX?

The size and the position of the screen change from one game to the other, thus it's not easilly predictable :( ... But you're right, it would be better :)

I keep looking at the emulators your porting and thinking that you might enjoy porting something like Coleovision, or Intellivision....ZX 81....or Sinclair....
Or better yet something like Mess....  ;)
(MULTIPLE EMULATOR SUPER SYSTEM)
Keep up the great work :D

The SAM coupe didnt do that well because people just though it was a "Super Spectrum" It was actually a pretty good computer (I do still own mine!) - It was nearer an ST than a Speccy :)
To run the spectrum on it you needed an emulator - same as all the rest! :p
There was a really good homebrew and P.D. scene on the SAM which it still ongoing
(Sorry... Im a geek who LOVES his retro systems!)

This BBC emulator is very good. It's *almost* perfect. Good work!
It seems to run almost full speed, but some games require frameskip 1 (e.g. Chuckie Egg). Also it seems that the sound is slightly "stuttery" so a musical note doesn't sound as smooth as it should.
zx81, is there any chance this emulator could get this last little bit of polish to make it perfect?

Any small update would be greatly appreciated :)
The emulator runs fine on a 1.5 psp (recent downgrader), only issue is it doesnt exit with the home key.
I know i've said it before. but thankyou for this fine emulator.
