M3 Mini - XVID?

I have read the M3 site and it says that the M3 Mini can convert Divx, but can it convert Xvid? I find that a large majority of movies are now in the Xvid format opposed to the Divx format.

Also (noob), am I to understand this correctly that all I need is the media launcher and m3 mini (and a card of course) to be able to play NDS, GBA, Movies, Music, and homebrew? Do I need to do any flashing or firmware editting?

not sure about Xvid although I'm preety sure it can.
