The Apple iPhone approval process has been a source of pain and suffering for many developers but few as had a torrid and protracted a struggle as Manomio. But the effort has seemingly paid off with news that its Commodore 64 Emulator is once again back on the App Store.
In June the app was initially denied a place on the download service as Apple stated that “an Application may not itself install or launch other executable code by any means, including without limitation through the use of a plug-in architecture, calling other frameworks, other APIs or otherwise”.
Just weeks later and after a resubmission, however, the emulator was given the thumbs up – only for Apple to remove it after it was discovered that it was possible to hack the app to access the Commodore 64 BASIC code that runs it.

Not one to be knocked back by rejection, however, Manomio revisited its coding and a new version of the software is now live and ready to download from the App Store.
The new version claims to boast a 30 per cent performance improvement over the initial release and also includes three brand new games – International Basketball, International Baseball, and International Tennis.
Also bundled in with the download is the app’s original software roster – Dragons Den, Le Mans, International Basketball, International Soccer, International Tennis, Jupiter Lander, Arctic Shipwreck and Jack Attack.
