Nokia has announced that its Nokia Music desktop application is being rebranded as Nokia Ovi Player, continuing the company's consolidation of its services under the Ovi name.
"Ovi Player is not a ground-up rebuild of Nokia Music, but it does contain some new features that will make it even easier to use," blogs Nokia Music product manager Mark Wheatley.
Those new features include navigation changes, redesigned controls, and tweaks to the interface when accessing the Nokia Music Store through the application.
Meanwihle, Ovi Player is the first version of the application to fully support the Windows 7 operating system.
We wonder if rebranding the app to Ovi Player leaves scope for other kinds of content to be accessed through it - videos and movies for example, or even games.
