I know I have alot of random DC threads here - but seem to get the best results when I post on here :) .

I was going through some old DC pics on a disc I have and found these pictures. Anybody know what these were all going to be for?

In this pic theres 2 phones - can't tell if they'd be mobiles or not - plugged into the DC via the serial port? I guess this was for the internet or something.

The bottom one appears to be a router or modem for an ISDN network which was a high speed network that was available prior to broadband being introduced. It wasn't particularly widespread, certainly not on a public level but businesses used it.

I would imagine that the phones in the upper picture were used to talk using the same ISDN network that the box is for or maybe just for chatting via the DC whilst it's connected to the dial up? They look like mobile phones though, as they have little aerials. Maybe the phones are standard but the lead just allows them to work with the DC?

In 1999, there were many developmental designs for cellular devices to be used within gameplay. I remember the one for the PSone, which never saw the light of day other than the concept photos.

Maybe they thought it was the future of gaming?
