I didn't bring this up before because MPH's firmware launcher terminated emulation when an update, homebrew form of code was run. But now that Devhook has the perfect firmware emulation built into it, I had an idea. You know how even when you set the wallpaper when emulating 2.50 it saves it to the Memory Stick because that is where it is being told the firmware is? Well if the firmware knows that it is in the memory stick and has no problem with it, then if you were to run an update like, oh, I don't know...2.71, then wouldn't it install it to the Memory Stick instead of the flash?

Now I'm not saying that this would be instant 2.71 emulation. But it would at least give us a dump of it to work with an maybe create a loader for it.

This idea is available to anyone who wants to try it or has a few dev PSPs around to try it.

So are any PSP dev-ers going to try this out?

I'm pretty sure they are... but with the modchip coming out, maybe they've given up?
