My friend said he was able to downgrade his PSP by using this method, I don't know if he really downgraded or if this method is fake. My friend has terrible English excuse him for being so gramatically challenged. I'm pretty sure this won't work because it breaks the encryption key, (I think). I paid $3 for this, he better not have ripped me off.

DOWNGRADER

-pbp unpacker
-hex editor
-2.6 update
-open 2.6 eboot with pbp unpacker
-open data.psar with hex edit
-search -find 2.6 change to 1.0 (hex tool)
-save data.psar (hex tool)
-save pbp unpacker
-start eboot
-look system settings 1.0
-update 1.5 to 2.5 and back with hex2.6

WILL IT WORK.....

REVISED EDITION

1. download and install pbp unpacker
2. download and install hex editor
3. download the 2.6 update
4. then open the 2.6 eboot with pbp unpacker
5. extract data.psar and open data.psar with hex editor.

6. search -find 2.6 change to 1.0 (hex editor) I think this means the System Information Change settings.

7. save data.psar (hex tool)

8. extract the rest of 2.6 data except for the old data.psar, compile the rest of the 2.6 data in PBP Unpacker with the new hacked data.psar into a eboot.pbp

9. transfrer eboot.pbp to PSP
10. start eboot
11. lookup your system settings, they will be 1.0
12. "update" to 1.5

Hopefully it is easier to understand.

I would have to say its bunk, it doesent seem like that would do anything at all, and what F/W are you trying to downgrade from??

and one more thing! lol,
a "HEX" editor wont help you at all, unless you can understand the 16 char language, your going to be lost anyway...

because the data.psar file will be nothing but gibberish even if edited.. and since it wasnt programmed in hex, it shouldnt display anything but the 16 character code....

Closed. There is only one method to downgrade and it only works for FW 2.0.
