GPF Releases Full Speed NGPC Emulator RACE! For Dreamcast

A few days ago (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=26920), GPF released a new NeoGeo Pocket Color emu for Dreamcast: RACE!DC

The name stands for '(R)ather (A) (C)ardfighter (E)mulator (!)'. RACE! is based on Judge_ (http://www.personal.triticom.com/~erm/GP2X/)'s MHE (Multiple Handheld Emulator) code. Additional credits go to a looong list of people: Please check the readme.txt that comes with your download for more info.

Included is a scrambled binary, place your NGPC ROMs on the root of the CD and burn the 1st_read.bin in what ever method you need to make a bootable CD.

This uses the menu from KOS's GhettoPlay examples by Dan Potter.

This emu doesn't work in Chankast. You need to play it on a real Dreamcast.

The game name most greatly may to 19 characters, if in the name has the blank space ( ) ! (!) - (-) The symbolism can automatically change into _ (_), moreover ' this mark cannot demonstrate

Felt on NGPC the pressed key really few

tried 3 to play:
1 King of Fighters the R-2 OK
2 Metal Slug - 1ST Mission question OK
3 Metal Slug - 2ND Mission not to resemble cannot simulate? ? My black screen could not pass



Could anyone tell me how to exit the emu to change other roms?
I can not exit emu by pressing L and R?
WHY? :eek:

I still need to write the code to exit the emu back to the menu by some type of key combination, and need to edit the menu code so it allows for longer filenames.

Hi Troy.
I could see in the latest release of PicoDriveDS (0.1.3) that it now suports long filenames. If you put the cursor on a name that exceeds the screen width, it starts to scroll, allowing you to see the entire file name. L and R moves 5 lines up or down also.
Maybe you can something like that.

Also, can you do the emulator read skins from a folder for the menu? I would like to try something in Photoshop as Dream Inducer themes =p

And maybe do the file menu show only *.NGC and *.NGP files.

If possible, option to move/resize the screen like that in DCGnuboy would be good too.

Works great so far. But all I tried was Gals Fighter since one needs to restart the emu to select a new game.
