i just put marvel vs capcom in the roms folder and there is like 6 files for the rom, and when i run it it says cannot find any roms? can someone help me?

I wanna play old games like Invaders, Pacman, 1941 etc

I have a 1.5 PSP, do I need a eloader? What version of the Mame4all do I use, the 1.5 one? I got that but it says corrupted data.

Help, dunno where to start.

Hi all! I'm new here too. I just got my PSP a few days ago and I have been reading WAY too much about the different versions and PSP boards. Well, I have the TA-082 (IC1003) board running version 2.80. Can I use the Mameforall003 emulator? Like I said, I am new to PSP. I have been hearing about "bricking" (I assume that means killing your PSP) and I do not want to do that! I also read that there is a DG for TA-082, but for version 2.71? For now (until I learn more) I just want to use the emulator. I have a few GIG worth of ROMs my friend just gave me (using MAME for Windows). Am I able to use those same ROMS for the PSP. Thanks for any help!!!

Yep I found the problem and got it working. There is one ROM ba3.11 that has a bunch of zeros appended to the start of it which is why it is 2048 long instead of 1920. If you delete those extra bytes from the start of the file with a binary editor it will work with MAME4ALL on the PSP.


Huge thanks for figuring this out nigels! I don't know how you figured this out but I'm glad you did. I was having the same issue as everyone else. ROM loaded without errors but then just hung at a blank screen.

I used a hex editor to clear out the leading zeros in the ba3.11 file and put it back in the elevator.zip and then gave it a whirl in MAME4ALL and it worked!!

Again, humungous thanks for this as this is one of the main reasons I dl'd MAME4ALL!!

you will need to downgrade youre 2.80
there is a ta-082 (ic-1003) 2.80 downgrader available
to dfh101,
it will work for 3.10OE-A, you can either put your psp into 1.50 homebrew folder mode and put it into ms0/psp/game
or leave it on 3.10 homebrew folder mode and put it into ms0/psp/game150

Well apparently it doesn't run all the old awesome shmups.
Is there any way to emulate those old brilliant games on PSP? MAME4xbox emulates them perfectly. I'm speaking of DoDonpachi, ESPrade, Vasara, Sengoku, 1945, Dragon Blaze, and the like.

Donkey Kong fails checking the roms, and Pacman has a blank spot separating the top and bottom of the screen that won't let me past. What version of Mame was this designed for? Anyone know where I can get the correct version of Donkey Kong?

'Donkey Kong 3' (dkong3) works well with sound and Midways 'super pac man' (superpac) also seems pretty perfect. :thumbup: I believe the roms are based on MAME 0.34/0.35 sets.

I guess having cps1, cps2 and all the neo geo mame games running perfectly is pretty good though, but I too wish someone would step up and sort out the many other decent mame games that just dont work for us yet. :( ...Its defo possible on the psp as NJ has proved as we can already play the bigger games like Marvel Vs Capcom, SVCchaos, Metal Slug 3 etc etc on our PSP's... how freekin cool would it be to have tmnt or The simpsons on our hand helds??

This is an S.O.S going out to Chui, ZX81, MikeDX or any other great coder out there with the talent... Please, please take up the challenge ! ...this is one project I'd defo donate to if it was sorted out for the psp.

Anyone managed to get wonder boy in monsterland running on this? i have a few other games running and i have tried every version of WBML i can find with no success.... its really the only game i am keen to play on it..

i installed the 1.5 vers .. thats the correct for this one right? cus the other one doesnt even appear at all.. only shows corrupt data.. this one does appear but starting it gives the cant start game error. wtf.

Mine doesn't work, here's what I get when i fire it off;

Module attribs 00001000 suggest a kernel-mode app
Press X to try anyway, or any other button to cancel.

If I cancel, it goes back to the main menu, but if I press X, the screen goes black and it eventually shuts off by itself.

I have 2.0 and I'm just trying to playArcade ports of Popeye, Athena and Solomon's Key on my PSP.

I have a SNE and NES emulators that work fine.

I'm stomped and I'm open to suggestions.

Using firmware 3.40OE with the Mame4All under the Game150 folder with 3.40OE kernel active. Tells me,

"Error: No Available Games Found
U_PSP:\PSP\GAME\MAME4ALLPSP\roms"

but my folder configuration is,

"ms0:\PSP\GAME150\MAME4ALLPSP\roms"

The only rom i have in the roms folder is sf.zip (Street Fighter (World) which is compatible accodring to chui's site.

I've already tried that with the 1.50, and the 2.xx version of the emulator with the same results. any other mame emulator you can recommend. I also tried the PSPMAME Capcom edition and the game stays stuck on the vh_open message.:confused: :(

My only wish is to have every single street fighter game working on my PSP. :D CPS-III has been decripted so it's just a matter of time before street fighter III finds a warm place in my PSP. is that too much to ask!:D i guess it is, but it be funnier that way!:rofl:

I have 3.40 oe-a and whenever I open the emulator I get a message that says "Error: No availiable games found U_PSP:\PSP\GAME\MAME4ALLPSP\roms" I just downloaded the emulator and dumped it into the GAME150 folder and dumped the roms into the roms folder, anyone?????
