Castlevania: Rondo of Blood has been available to Japanese Wii owners since 2008, but it may be available to those of us in North America, Europe and Australia, if the OFLC's recent rating—spotted by Nintendo Life (http://vc.nintendolife.com/news/2009/12/castlevania_rondo_of_blood_getting_long_overdue_we stern_release)—is any indication. Perhaps another Hanabi (http://kotaku.com/386812/another-pal-hanabi-festival-gradius-ii--cho-aniki-to-hit-vc) Festival (http://kotaku.com/299786/nintendo-begins-hanabi-festival-for-pal-virtual-consoles) is in order for PAL territories?
Of course, you can play Castlevania: Rondo of Blood right now, should you have a PSP. Konami released the game as Dracula X Chronicles (http://kotaku.com/278363/castlevania-dracula-x-chronicles-hands+on-impressions) in 2007 on UMD, issuing a digitally downloadable version (http://kotaku.com/5423717/playstation-store-update-shooter) this year.
Don't be surprised to see Rondo of Blood on the list of Wii Virtual Console releases in 2010. And don't be surprised if you recognize many of its heavily recycled sprites.
