Nintendogs differences

Sorry if this is a FAQ, but does anyone know if there are any functional differences between the different Nintendogs games (as opposed to cosmetics, with the different pups)?

there aren't any other than different initial pups to my knowledge. i'm not sure if the new dalmation one is any different though.

They are the same the dogs are what differ.
