Downgraded a virgin US 1.50 (upgraded to 2.60) back down to 1.50. Everything worked perfectly. Now I can finally get rid of that rediculously lewd and wicked abomination that is GTA LCS.

Mafia.. Im just going by what it says in the guide. So as far as I know, no PSPs with pre-installed 2.6 firmware can be downgraded. It would be too risky for you to try it.

Obviousely i have to buy GTA LCS to downgrade to 1.5, but if i have a 2.5, does that mean i have to update to a 2.6? If so, how can i do that when the upgrade will be for 2.7 (i think).

Also, does it matter what size memory card you have?

The numbers i see in the top right hand corner of my psp are R3-2 (i think im looking at the right place). Is it ok to downgrade with that? (please tell me where to look if i've given the wrong numbers =p.

Doesnt matter which region you use - the 1.50 would probably be japanese anyway.

some info: if your PSP box has 1003-k on it... its more than likely european and came with 2.0 . as far as I know, This CAN be downgraded. But please dont take this as gospel... Im not 100% sure, but from the research I've done... this is true.

Just briked mine... It had 2.5 upgraded to 2.6... Dosent work... The light blinked for 2-3 mins then shut off, no reboot... I formated my memory stick reset to factory setings and such... For what it's worth, I didn't format my memory stick before running the downgrade, instead I just copied everything over wholesale from the PSP-hacks archive. I had around 400MB free and was running from a near-fully charged battery.

Like you, the screen went blank and the memory stick access light flashed intermittently for a couple of minutes - but in my case a blue screen came up saying the settings were corrupted, press O to continue. After that it went into the new install routine, asking about timezones and the like, then it ended with a "cannot read from UMD" error.

That was with a UK PSP-1003G1, factory 2.50 with a 2.60 upgrade applied just before running the 2.60 downgrader.

I'm opening up the UMD drive, and in the top corners, I can't see any writing. I think I see something in the top left corner, half of the writing is under the parts. When I got my PSP it was a 2.0. downgrading is a S-E-R-I-O-U-S buisness i was a 1.52 user and went to 1.5 first before you downgrade make sure these requirements are met!

1.you got a whole memory stick to itself
2.battery should be charged and in AC ADAPTOR MAKE SURE THE BATTERY IS 100% dont give a SHIT if youre so excited your hearet will blow when you find out it messes UP!
3. MAKE SURE ALL FILES ARE IN THE APPROPIATE PLACES DUHH!
4.CHECK IF FILES ARE IN THE PLACES AGAIN
5.LAST CHECK IF FILES IN PLACES
6.START DOWNGRADE DO NOT RUSH THE THING TAKE A LOOOOONG TIME AT THE PARTS OF WAITING

if these instructions are followed correctly heck you cant mess psp but you know what YOU CAN BE AN UNLUCKY BRICK!! MAKE SURE YOU WANT THIS PROGRAM!

I can also confirm it works great with psp-hacks pre-dump pack. Downgraded my brother's default 1.51>2.5>2.6 flawlessly.

i just did my bro's too hes gunna be happy when he gets outta work and sees that his psp has the godly power of 1.5...and im sorry to hear that dawd, u got the downgrader from psp-hacks.com right? and u put both of the folders in the ROOT of the MS?

ok people this is what i did after gettin the downgrader at psp-hacks.com
1. restore factory settings
2. format memory stick
3. make sure ur psp is fully charged and plugged in to the adapter
4. install the eLoader(i used the latest version SuperBock)
5. drag/drop the "DOWNDATER" to the root of the MS
6. drag/drop the PSP folder in the root of MS(since this folder already exsists it will ask u to overwrite it, say yes to all)
7. run GTA:LCS
8. select the downdater test
9. wait til ur psp restarts and goes the the blue sceen then press O
10. ur psp will restart again and a msg will come up "the game can not be read" at this point turn of ur psp and take out GTA:LCS the turn on ur psp and u got a 1.5 psp

Now this is a huge day not only for 2.xx users but us 1.5 as well. Because of this new things are on the horizon. As well as the returning of many old 1.5's and new ones too. Because of this many people are confused on what to do after that. Like getting homebrew to run and much more like Dev Hook. It worked fine here with the AC adapter in a different room - the battery was around 85% charged.

My psp's charging port almost never worked, so I did the next best thing and bought an external charger. I got it off ebay for $25, and it came with a free battery. Maybe you should check for another offer like this and take it. It's worth it in the long run.

in game dir you need 2 different dir for each emu, for example DGEN: you will have DGEN and DGEN%

u still got ur demo disc that came with ur psp use that umd case, just pull it apart it should just come right open then put in the game it works me and my friend tested it out w/ 2 demo discs(but not a game)

the problem is either ur not putting the homebrew in the right place or ur firmware is messed up. look up a homebrew guide on google or update to 2.0 then downgrade again.

i put the 2 eboot folders in GAME and i put that big folder (like 20 mb) called dh or something like in the root of my ms

btw, the dh folder contains the firmware dumps. get it from another psp site

i think i got it from that QJ network site. once u get that dh folder, u put it in the root and it will all work. i cant provide a link because the psp browser is sooo slow

You just copy the downdater folder as it is in the ROOT of your memory stick. The ROOT is the page where as soon as you put the USB in on the PC the first thing you see is the root.

You don't need to know this all you have to do is download the 2.6 Downdater folder rom www.psp-hacks.com and all the files are included. Follow the instructions and you're done!

u still got ur demo disc that came with ur psp use that umd case, just pull it apart it should just come right open then put in the game it works me and my friend tested it out w/ 2 demo discs(but not a game)
i ment thye door that is attached to the psp, not the umd case
