http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/4/2010/01/500x_500x_polarbeartv.jpgIt's CES week (http://gizmodo.com/tag/ces), which can only mean one thing: Absolute gadget overload. Here's the best of Gizmodo's dispatches from gadget hell, all in one place.
Monday—The Pre-Pre-Pre-Show

http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/4/2010/01/500x_500x_ces3dtvsss_2.jpg
This is the day that the press starts to show up, and when the conference begins to assume its horrible shape. It's not really CES, but it's starting to feel that way.
• MSI's lineup semi-leaked (http://gizmodo.com/5439654/msi-prepping-dual-screen-nvidia+powered-ereader-and-a-3d-laptop), including a dual-screen ereader and a 3D laptop. These, nt coincidentally, will be concepts and words you'll be unbelievably tired of by the end of the week. GET READY FOR 3D EREADERS, Y'ALL.
• There was a washer/dryer with Android (http://gizmodo.com/5439729/do-you-really-need-a-microwave-or-a-washer+dryer-running-android). Why? Why not? (But really, why?)
• And we did a little recon (http://gizmodo.com/5440180/the-spectacle-this-week-at-ces-television-in-three-dimensions) on the main CES building. What we found: 3D, 3D, 3D, 3D.
Tuesday—Day Zero

http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/4/2010/01/500x_500x_ideapadu1slatebyshell1_03.jpg
The show floor isn't open yet, but the press conferences are starting in full force. This means interesting announcements! And gadget spam. But mostly announcements.
• Lenovo dumped the first true banner products of the show, with the IdeaCenter 300a (http://gizmodo.com/5440145/lenovo-ideacentre-300a-all+in+one-is-worlds-thinnest-at-just-185mm) ultrathin AIO, the first Snapdragon smartbook (http://gizmodo.com/5440161/lenovos-skylight-is-the-first-arm+based-snapdragon-smartbook), and a capacitive multitouch netbook tablet (http://gizmodo.com/5440207/netbook-tablets-get-capacitive-multitouch-with-the-ideapad-s10+3t).
• Iomega figured out how to make your entire PC portable (http://gizmodo.com/5440226/iomega-vclone-app-portable+izes-your-entire-pc), and upgraded (http://gizmodo.com/5440234/iomega-enters-the-1080p-video-fray-with-cinemanow+equipped-screenplay-director-line) their streaming boxes to 1080p.
• Eye-Fi Wi-Fi cards went wireless N (http://gizmodo.com/5440053/eye+fi-pro-x2-goes-all-wireless-n).
• Now, even Canon's saddest, cheapest cameras have rechargable batteries (http://gizmodo.com/5440302/canons-a-series-cheapo-digital-cameras-use-rechargable-batteries-for-the-first-time).
• This is kind of inevitable: A 24-hour 3D channel is coming in 2011. (http://gizmodo.com/5440455/24+hour-3d-television-channel-coming-in-2011) It will show Avatar on loop, 24 hours a day.
• Vizio's aiming upscale (http://gizmodo.com/5440588/vizio-xvt-pro-3d-hdtvs-are-stacked-for-cheaper-local-dimming-480hz-and-wireless-hdmi) for once, with 480Hz, locally dimming LED 3D TVs. And a bizarrely wide 21x9 TV (http://gizmodo.com/5440598/vizio-xvt-pro-580cd-their-first-2560x1080-res-58+inch-21x9-cinema-wide-tv), which is proportioned roughly like a billboard.
• A lapdesk (http://gizmodo.com/5440599/cool-down-your-thighs-and-ears-with-logitechs-n700-speaker-lapdesk) with speakers.
• A pico projector (http://gizmodo.com/5440651/pico-projector-from-light-blue-optics-throws-up-a-10+inch-touchscreen-laser-projection) with a projection you can actually touch.
• Marvell crammed a PC into a plug, (http://gizmodo.com/5440702/marvell-plug-computer-30-the-tiny-linux-brick) which isn't the first of its kind, but it's probably the best.
• Asus confirmed their commitment to Bamboo-trimmed faux-eco-laptops (http://gizmodo.com/5440844/the-bamboo-asus-laptop-lives-meet-the-u53), designer netbooks for the lay-deez, and ridiculous giant desktop replacements (http://gizmodo.com/5440848/asus-nx90-polished-aluminum-all+in+one-laptop) with dual trackpads. They also predicted the future, and gave it a stupid name: Waveface (http://gizmodo.com/5440860/asus-has-seen-the-future-and-it-is-called-waveface).
• We got to play with the Lenovo IdeaPad hybrid tablet...thing. (http://gizmodo.com/5440922/ideapad-u1-hybrid-hands+on-meet-voltron-he-could-be-amazing) It could be OK, apparently!
• Oregon Scientific measures (http://gizmodo.com/5441001/oregon-scientific-wireless-appliance-manager-measures-how-much-juice-you-lose) how much juice your appliances are losing.
• An HDTV in a polar bear (http://gizmodo.com/5441000/polar-bear-tv-storms-the-****-out-of-ces).
• I ran Spring Design's dual-screened Android ereader (http://gizmodo.com/5441025/spring-design-alex-android-ereader-hands-on-shut-up-nook) through its paces. It's a geekier Nook.
• We heard rumblings about a multitouch HP tablet, codeveloped with Microsoft. It sounds a little Courier (http://gizmodo.com/tag/courier)-y, but almost definitely not the Courier.
Wednesday—Day One

http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/4/2010/01/500x_500x_attttttt14.jpg
The show floor still isn't open, but the new hardware is coming fast and hard.
• Sling unveiled three new ways (http://gizmodo.com/5441241/slings-trio-of-new-tv-placeshifting-devices-offers-lots-of-streaming-goodness) to share your TV with yourself (it's what they do!), including a USB Slingbox. Their new remote control (http://gizmodo.com/5441298/sling-touch-control-100-rc-has-wi+fi-touchscreen-and-beauty) is supremely sexy, but also only available from your cable or sat provider.
• BlackBerry Presenter combines every suit's two favorite things (http://gizmodo.com/5441264/blackberry-powerpoint-presenter-combines-corporate-americas-two-guiltiest-pleasures): PowerPoint and, well, BlackBerry.
• Toshiba's cheap-o T100 laptops (http://gizmodo.com/5440812/satellite-t100-series-affordable-notebooks-but-you-get-what-you-pay-for) are cheap in all senses of the word.
• Doxie document scanner (http://gizmodo.com/5441406/doxie-scanner-uploads-straight-to-the-cloud) scans whatever your want to whereever you want (on the internet).
• LG assured Plasma fans that they're still in the game (http://gizmodo.com/5440716/infina-pk950-and-pk750-relief-for-the-plasma-tv-faithful), and put their LED TVs on a dangerous crash diet (http://gizmodo.com/5440665/lgs-infinia-le9500-is-a-3d+ready-led-tv-with-picture+frame-depth). Then they threw a hard drive into their top-line Blu-ray player (http://gizmodo.com/5441239/lg-bd590-is-the-first-blu+ray-player-with-an-integrated-hard-drive), because nobody stopped them.
• The D-Link Pebble (http://gizmodo.com/5441509/d+links-pebble-streams-but-doesnt-skim) is an extremely small media streamer, that you'd for forgiven for confusing with a sex toy, but not forgiven for using as one.
• Netgear's new wireless-N routers (http://gizmodo.com/5439910/netgears-new-routers-turn-3g-and-wimax-into-wireless+n-goodness) can receive and share both 3G and WiMax.
• MyDitto NAS (http://gizmodo.com/5441548/the-myditto-nas-could-be-the-simplest-cloud+accessible-storage-solution) is the simplest NAS I've ever seen.
• Philips' Research Labs is making good on the color ebook reader promise, one tech demo at a time (http://gizmodo.com/5441619/full-color-ereader-shown-off-by-liquavista).
• You don't call a product the Ear Vibe (http://gizmodo.com/5441685/ear-vibe-headphones-the-most-poorly-thought-out-product-at-ces) if you don't want Adam to make fun of it.
• AT&T will finally get some Android phones (http://gizmodo.com/5441632/atts-first-android-phones-five-from-motorola-dell-and-htc), courtesy of HTC, Dell and Motorola.
• The Giz team made a home under a table (http://gizmodo.com/5441653/improvised-press-room-ces+style). This causes old analysts and journalists to TwitPic wildly, and idiotically.
• Toshiba claims that their new cell TVs can convert 2D content into 3D in real time. It may or may not look terrible.
