One of the best games to port would be XCOM. The game is small in size, simple graphics, however, has a massive following and is very addictive.

I can supply the original PC game.
As it has been classed as abandonware there is no legal issues.
Can anyone make this a reality

And now the problem that everyone keeps mentioning over and over and over:

Is there source code available? To port something, you kinda need the source code.

I too am an old-time fan of the original X-Com Game (also known in the UK as UFO: Enemy Unknown).

Source code?
Edit: One possible source...
From wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFO:_Alien_Invasion) - "UFO: Alien Invasion is a computer game, heavily influenced by X-COM series, where the player fights aliens that are trying to take control over the Earth. The game is currently under development, and is licensed under the GPL. It is based on a modified Quake II engine, and runs on both Linux and Windows."

Official Website (http://ufo.myexp.de/)
Sourceforge Project Page (http://sourceforge.net/projects/ufoai)

:End Edit

Abandonware: be careful. Abandonware is not the same as Public Domain or Freeware. There can still be legal issues to contend with.

Well, the sourcecode IS out there considering the fact that UFO:Enemy unknown has been ported to the pocketpc by a russian group of coders. Maybe the sourcecode is available on demand to groups trying to increase popularity for the game?

Or they may have created their own code and took the graphics from the origional game, all speculation, but it does prove that writeing the game for different consoles is possible

In any event, here is the link to the site for the game, see for yourself:

I hope this triggers something :D
