http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/kotaku/2010/01/untitled-1.jpgThe latest issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine is carrying a brief rumour, claiming that the fifth game in the Dead or Alive series - one that's long been a Microsoft exclusive - will also be appearing on the PS3.
If correct, it wouldn't be the world's biggest surprise; not only is "former console exclusive goes multiplatform" an increasingly common headline these days, but series creator Tomonobu Itagaki has left developers Team Ninja (http://kotaku.com/tag/teamninja/), meaning the team are approaching the fifth game in the main series with a clean slate.
Of course, it was never really an Xbox exclusive to begin with, as games prior to 2001's Dead or Alive 3 appeared on the PS1, PS2, Dreamcast and Saturn. But still. Exclusive for eight years is long enough for some people to go taking things for granted.
